Where is the correct location for the fuel filter on a 1970 bird with 440 six bbl?   The 1970 service manual shows no filter and my car has all the original lines that have no room for a filter?  Any help.  Thanks :shruggy: :shruggy: :shruggy:

Unless the filer is inline before the fuel pump is the only place to put it with the fuel separator.  Here is the pic from the Mopar service manual.

That's how both my six pack cars are.

As others have eluded to, when it comes to the 4bbl and 6bbl for that topic, they are the same..

Factory was the vapour return canister only and it's screen... but I highly suggest cutting your upper feed pipe somewhere (out of sight if you're trying for total OE look) and putting in a metal canister style filter.

Make sure your vapor separator is one of the "good" ones with the proper internal tube lengths - Like the one Frank Badalson sells.
Otherwise, you are in for a car that doesn't run well....or at idle only.
I have only ever used the vapor separator - without auxiliary filters.....per factory.
Never a problem.

Of all the pieces in your fuel system, don't skimp on this part.  Years back I bought a cheap knock-off vapor separator and the POS came apart internally and little bits of metal screen went into the all three carbs.   What a mess that turned out to be.

I'm re using the original one.  So it should be correct!  Thanks
