Distributer question

I have a 1969 "H" code 383 in my Charger. Engine is stock except the headers that were on car when I bought it.
I installed new points, and car is running fine, but I have always planned on electronic ignition conversion, when time is right.
So being a broke bastard, I found a 1974 440HP distributer in my stash of parts.
I ALSO have an adapter to run the longer RB distributer in a B engine.
So my question is will the factory 1974 440 HP distributer have the same advance curve as a new MP ignition kit distributer, or am I better off just spending the bread and get the new one.
Thanks

Don't know that any one will be able to answer that with any degree of accuracy, anyway anything can be changed to suit your needs, just pop in what you have and put a light on it and map it out.

The advance curve of both distributors is published...in the FSM for stock but the MP will depend on the year of the kit.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

I hear what your saying.
I maybe should have first checked if the vacuum advance on the 74 is adjustable via allen key in the port.
I do have an older new in package set of MP advance springs, I guess I would really have nothing to lose by taking your advice and tossing it in and go from there.
