So my project of the week was assembly of my bumper/grille for my 70 Charger. My grille had a noticeable sag above the DS headlight door as many I have seen do. I was determined to get rid of the sag and did not want to drill holes or add fasteners that could be seen from the top. I used a pair of common corner brackets, the adjacent bolt and a flat washer underneath the head of the bolt to space it up. See the solution below. I am very happy with the results.

Nice, my grill will raise/warp on the lower sections below the headlight flaps depending on outside temps; I've been wanting to dissect beneath it to see how I could keep it laying flat.

Thanks for the compliments. I did get a new repo grille fastener kit. I am not sure if anything is improved from the originals. I hope I don't see any of the warpage when the weather warms up. If so, I assume one could loosen some of the grill screws to allow some relative movement due to expansion. However, you would have to make sure not to loosen too much. I would be interested to hear of other tricks or known solutions.

Good job man.  I tried to fix the warped surfaces on my 69 grille with heat and wooden blocks to exert pressure and ended up making it worse.   Oh well, here's to hoping classic industries starts shipping again...
