Hi
68 Charger R/T
I am having some difficulties with the Linkage installation.
I would like to start with a basic question.
In the pictures, the lower lever shown has 6 positions.
It is shown the farthest back position.
What is the function of that position and as it is rotated forward, what is the selected function?
P  -  R  -  N  -  D  -  2 -  1
I know it is a dumb question once you know where to start.
Thank You
John

According to the FSM push the lower lever all the way back and with the shifter indicator in "P" tighten the nut on the linkage shaft.  So to answer your question, all the way back is park.

No dumb questions, but there can be dumb answers!

Yes, It was a dumb question.
I just found your answer in my service manual.
I get frustrated sometimes trying to find something in that manual.

Welcome to the club,  ever tried to find something about the wiring system and then match it to what is actually installed.  OMG!!

The FSM's have mistakes.  Some well known, some less so.
Mopar forever!
