OK... so, I am sure I am not the only 2nd gen charger owner with A/C who has had their lower center dash pad pull apart as shown below.  Besides the metal pulling away from the pad, the lower pads are in great shape.  Is there any way of repairing this issue?  Not ready to pay the $800+ for just dashes to rebuild all 3 pads for one issue!

Any help is appreciated!!

Had the same issue with my lower A/C center dash pad when I did my restoration. I wish I took pics of how I did it but I never did.

I ended up pulling it apart the best I could then cleaning out anything loose inside until I was confident that there was nothing crumbly or dusty.  I then used some stuff called SHOE GOO, spelled just like that, it is in a red tube.  It was invented to fix tennis shoe soles and aside from fixing shoes, it works great on other stuff.

I then used a liberal amount, enough so it barely oozes out and used some wooden clamps with foam to protect the padding and let sit overnight. Its been about 5 years now w/o any issue.

That worked for me but every situation is different. Good luck!

I guess the "shoe goo" is contact cement... similar to the one used for vinyl tops and used regulary on upholstery shops too.

Its close, but Shoe Goo in my opinion is more like rubber cement but much thicker and allows some flex when dry...

Usually those glues for shoes are a polyurethane type glue. Very strong and rubber like when dry and slightly yellow....and yes they usually can be used as a contract type adhesive but dont have to be.
