OXALIC ACID for rust removal?

Anyone bought OXALIC ACID in powder form to make rust remover? I'm thinking it must be main ingredient in Evap-O-Rust and the like?  :scratchchin: It would be much cheaper than Evap-O-Rust for large jobs.

I am into model trains and came across a video of taking rust off old Lionel track
The guy just let it soak in vinegar for 24 hours
Might be something to try some time

After he took it out he put it in water and baking soda to neutralize it then dried it in an oven

Yea I tested acidic acid/vinegar, mix it with salt and it cleans copper/brass connectors really well. Wiki read Oxalic was much stronger.  :scratchchin: Cleaning rust from my TW200's gas tank cost quite a bit from buying Evap-O-Rust and then the red liner coating. Thanks for the link!
