Another dumb question.
I am tired of breaking things so here is the question.

I removed the bolt shown in the column picture.
Nothing else is willing to come off.
There has to be a trick!  Light prying does nothing.
It appears that 2 parts have to come apart as they move relative to each other.

The second picture is the replacement part (Standard Parts).

The three screws have to come out and the switch assembly will come out if you have loosened off the ribbon cable to it. You'll need it all out to splice that repair plate in...and you'll have to GENTLY pry the two pieces apart.

That said, I put one of those repair plates in and it lasted 10 actuations before falling apart. Check the two wires are nice and secure on the back side before using it. I threw mine away and paid the $$$'s for an NOS OEM switch.

Both situations covered in my Bee restoration thread pinned to the top of the Car Guys Discussion section.

I found page 53 in your restoration.
Pulled the 3 screws, and switch plate.  Slid the ribbon cable a little towards me as I managed to wiggle off the switch assembly.
There seems to be something holding the 2 parts, of the switch, together as I can't seem to separate them.
Press fit???  There seems to be a rectangular insert where the thru bolt goes and the new part has a rectangular hole in that location.(Added Picture).

How did you do it. I tried a putty knife but it wouldn't separate at the center shaft where they rotate.

2 steps forward, 1 step back.  Your procedure did work. Thank You.
I used PB blaster, it took a while, but I did manage to get the 2 main pieces apart.
But, I managed to shatter the brown plastic piece that covers the wires.
Do you or anyone else know if that little cover is available anyplace?
