I was pleasantly surprised to not just be able to locate, but to actually contact the Original Owner of our 1969 Charger R/T SE ?
He remembers it well.... and referenced it a few times as "the Beast"!
He was a USN Fighter Pilot and Ordered it(Y14 Code) Brand New in San Diego Ca prior to heading back for his last Tour over Vietnam in late 1968..... says it was such a good car he kept it right until the late 70's long after he had left the USN and had "Company Cars" then working in private industry.
He said all the Fighter Pilots at "Fighter Town USA" Miramar had Hot Cars... Chevelles, GTO's etc., etc.

Kind of surreal to attach the Charger's history and find out how it stayed in such fine condition over the years ?
I mean there was Invoices with it when we acquired it showing it's still only gone 16,000 miles since just a few years after he Sold it ?
Pretty amazing stuff to hear the history in those days !

Closest I got was to the second owner of my one 1969 R/T. He knew and bought from the original owner, so not sure what else I could have gotten from a conversation, as he pretty much relayed the story from when it was a 15 y/o used car at the time he purchased from owner #1.

I talked to the dealer of the other 1969 R/T I bought, where it was bought way back when. They remembered the guy, and the car, and sent me to the house. But nobody lived there by that name, or knew...

The others I have owned, no chance of going back that far.

I bought mine from the original owner and we stopped off at the dealership where he bought it for a few pictures. They turned it into a Ford dealership back in the early 80's when Chrysler was not looking to stable.

For the record, there should be no apostrophes in your title...................

When should you use an apostrophe?

Apostrophe Rules for Possessives

1. Use an apostrophe + S ('s) to show that one person/thing owns or is a member of something. ...
2. Use an apostrophe after the "s" at the end of a plural noun to show possession. ...
3. If a plural noun doesn't end in "s," add an apostrophe + "s" to create the possessive form.

Got my 69 S.E., 4-speed from the original owner, talked to him the day I bought it. Sad to say he passed away 1.5 years later, that is the only one I have ever contacted.

Good stuff guys !   :2thumbs: :popcrn:

I know the name of the first owner of mine he is on the warranty book, but cant quite make out the surname.
he bought it on June 23rd 1969, interesting really  as my charger has a SPD of  22nd November 1968 ! !  maybe that's why ive not seen another color combo the same as mine  :scratchchin:  he was the only one who liked it & took six months for the dealer to find him    :P

I'm the 6th owner of one of my Rallye Chargers and talk to the 2nd owner all the time (my dad). The first owner isn't around anymore.

The guy who ordered my 72 Rallye is still around, but I haven't talked to him yet personally.

When I attempted to contact the person I had determined to be the original owner, the post office returned my letter to me marked with a stamp of a hand pointing at the message  " return to sender, addressee deceased".
