Pic was taken at the '05 Mopar Nationals. Car caught my eye and I was just wondering how well known the car is? Current owner?  :shruggy:

When I saw the paint I instantly thought of Jack's '5&50' 'bird.

It does appear to be that same car with a different name(s) on the door?? All of the other graphics are the same... :yesnod:

Same car.    Very much in as-raced condition to this day.

Wonder if the nose was crunched? It doesn't share the same paint any longer... :shruggy:

Nothing better in my view than the super stock look.

This car was on eBay with a timeline and history all spelled out.  Early 2000's or so? Yes the nose was damaged and painted white.  Great car.

The car was featured in Mopar Action in the mid-2000's.    This article by Cliff Gromer has the story.

Have read the article before-am excellent history. What is missing however is that after Werst and Allen both redlighted the Karl Gould Hemi Superbird campaigned by Tim Edwards won the Summernationals in Indy that year!. We have not restored that car from the early 70's and I fired it up this morning for about 20 minutes, open headers, slicks and all, and lit it up in the shop lot once. A guy stopped by the shop while I was in there and wanted his boys to see history-I did them one better and let them sit in it when I lit it up in the lot! The paint shows its 45 year old age, but is unchanged, the interior is unchanged, the engine bay is unchanged although we no longer have a Sox and Martin Hemi, we do have a period correct hemi. It is still a floor shifted, line lock automatic "R" code care delivered, ironically enough, in the same color scheme of B5 blue, bench seat white interior.

The engine bay was painted flat black years ago and the wing is full of lead. The wheel wells were rolled in back, and the rear suspension was (and still is) modified for drag racing. I actually drove it on the street this summer-open headers, slicks and all-about 5 miles away to a car show. I also drove it from the parking lot to the Wellborn mansion and then from the parking lot to downtown Alexander City the old time records.

When I got the car from Mike Hill I received an incredible history trove-racing programs, pictures, letters, stories, memorabilia and complete racing history with results and original programs.

I was standing there when you pulled into the lot next to the museum, what a fantastic sight and sound!
