Yep flat brace only on the 70 Charger

Well........

Only on all 1970 B-bodies with the possible exception of station wagons.

My 1970 Coronet & Sport Satellite use the same brace as the Charger & others.

I guess I should have worded that differently Alaskan_TA.  Meaning flat brace only on the 70 Charger. No raised indents or out dents?? lol

Going to see if I can find those bumpers this evening once the wife goes to work.

Curious to get more knowledge about these rubber bumpers. I just looked under my 70 road runner which was built at the LA plant. It has the complete original fuel system. And guess what? The tank brace has no rubber bumpers or holes in the brace for them. The brace is flat as discussed above. I am wondering if these bumpers were used plant specific or model specific. My 70 Charger brace has the holes......so I assume it likely had the bumpers at one time. Looking forward to learning more on this topic.   Joe

My 1970 Coronet & 1970 Sport Satellite have the 'flat' brace as mentioned above.

Both are 1970 St.Louis cars - just like all the 1970 Chargers were.

The Coronet has the rubber blocks while the Sport Satellite has the holes for the screws, but no rubber blocks.

Original undercoating car, so they were not there when new on the Sport Satellite.

Got them. Right under my nose. Glad I marked every things from years ago. 2003!!! Time to put her together.
Just resizing and down loading pictures with measurements. Oh yeah if you have to make some maybe more of a normal hockey puck.

I'll be back in a few.

Ok I know it's only a little block of rubber but it's our block of rubber! lol :icon_smile_big:

Here's seven pictures from every angle with measurements. It's all I got.

Awesome photos.....any chance to get a depth on that counter bore?  I am going to have James Filmore at DMT look at making these.

Oops. Forgot that one. I'm on it. It's still on the kitchen table. Give me a couple.

You what they say... it's not who I know it's who you know! lol Should be real easy to reproduce. Minus the part# A little Penstar would be nice though.
Look how that undercoating protected that thing. I washed it off when I put it away 16 years ago.
There's that's the last dimension. I think??

Oh I forgot to add those numbers are pretty dam close. Give or take a thous.

well I was  trying to see the  number next to the pentastar  & was looking like 2811861,  I know or don't know  or remember or i'm confusing this with something else !   that the numbers on the parts was not necessarily / not  the dealer/ factory part reference number ,  but was hopping that number may well have showed up  some where  :shruggy:

This may help?

2811861 is the seven digit part number.

99201 is the five digit vendor code.

2811861 is not in the 70-71 parts catalog. I also struck out on a google search. This part and it's usage seems very obscure. Would love to know the screw part number as well.

My 1970-71 part book has it listed for R W (Belvedere & Coronet) and AR (use As Required for 6-passenger station wagons.

Interesting because my '70 Coronet has them, my '70 Belvedere does not but my former '70 Charger did have them.  :scratchchin:

Thanks Barry!  I have now located it in my parts book as well. Hopefully I can find a pair of these soon.
