Radiator Suggestion - Recore old or buy new aluminum?

Currently the radiator in my car works fine but last time I had it went through the guy said "I did what I could and it should last for a few years" well that was 2008.  I'm adding A/C to the car so want to make it as efficient as possible so:
- re-core 47 year old unit again?
- Buy a "new" super efficient space-age aluminum one

Money isn't really an issue just want to do it right plus its a B-block with a '22 inch

Suggestions and vendors?

If you do not care about original. I would go new aluminum. Keep the old one around.

So you guys have had good luck with them? I'm just REAL scared about after market, burned so many times with crap

I've had my champion radiator for about 3 yrs with no issues. I run a mild 383 and I currently have no shroud for it and it still keeps it cool. Can't remember if it's 2 or 3 row. But I'm pretty sure it's a 3. The radiator itself is about 3" thick. Hope that helps.

I forgot that mine came with electric fans as well but I kept the stock one.

Mopar Nut

U.S. Radiator makes a good aftermarket 22" 4 row high efficiency copper/brass or aluminum one.
"Dear God, my prayer for 2024 is a fat bank account and a thin body. Please don't mix these up like you did the last ten years."

Is there shrouds available for the aftermarket ones?

Mopar Nut

U.S Radiator makes shrouds for electric fans, but my stock 69 Charger shroud fits.

Hard to beat a quality 2 row aluminum.
Perhaps 2 row copper since termic coeficient is better.  :scratchchin:

My original was re-cored back in 2008 and has been great so far.

If you are sticking with copper, a factory 3 row would be my choice. The thermal dynamics of aluminum is why they are aluminum with different tube sizes.
I ran a stock 3 row in my 383 with no creep issues in 100 degree idling. Plenty of people in my zipcode run larger engines with stock rads, plenty also run aftermarket aluminum.  My cars have a combination of both.
