theres some info floating around the last few days regarding this find, its too late for me to find it atm, 1am here but shouldnt be too hard to locate and someone to post up.
saw it on facebook pages aswell. Seems to be a lot of BS barn finds lately, although this being a hemi car, worthy of a thread.

How dare they tow that on an open trailer knowing that some that valuable barn dust patina will blow off? And they are going to display it at MCACN as well. I assume that it'll be in the same condition.

Personally, I feel that showing one's car as it was pulled out of a crusty barn has gone too far. Sure, take some pictures and then clean the car to show what it really looks like.

chargervert

That car reminded me of the black 68 Hemi Charger R / T with the red tailstripe, that was found in a barn about 5 or 6 years ago, that had those plastic covers over the seats. I hope that this one on this thread has a better fate than the black one with the red stripe did. That car survived all those years in the barn, only to burn to the ground after it was moved to a new location, if I remember correctly.

We want them in the MCACN Barn Finds display as close to found as possible.  Usually right after they are cleaned up.  It shows that the car has not been messed with before being shown.  This car is coming to the display.

People love it!

Like this 1969 Charger 500.... it was pulled out of the barn on Wednesday, in the show Thurs-Sun, and then back in the barn Monday.

That Straw was purposely thrown around. No critter does that. Trust me, I am from the country and have seen it all. Notice I did not say Hay ? There is a difference btw.

I am still on a farm and that straw looks about right
Over time just the wind blowing it around in the barn from a pile of bales will get it every place
That was not a nest in the battery box just an even layer
Barn picture shows no hood on the car

There was literally a wall of straw sitting next to the 500 and Superbird.... some of it ended up in the 500.  And it was an in an enclosed trailer en-route to the show and back.

Here's my video from the barn.

This "Barn Find" BULLSH!T has got everyone cloned into believing the hype of said find. That Barn find show, what a joke. Do people actually pay to get into that show?? Purposely placing, HAY, STRAW, DUST, MOLD, BIRDSH!T, COWSH!T Etc. portraying false identity. Yeah I know there are some true barn finds out there but it's a very small percentage vs the ones advertised as "Barn Finds". Many CL listings, Face Book listings, eBay listings, overheard conversations at Mopar swap meets using the term "Barn Find"

Friend: "Hey Bob this one could qualify for the barn find show"
Bob: "Really"
Friend: "Yes! Just be careful NOT to let the dirt blow off during transportation and you're good"
Bob: "Wow thanks for the vote of confidence"

The two pictures show that the straw (and radiator cap) has been tampered with. This will not stand!!!!  :flame:

Don't think you would ever get a Barn Find show over here. Who wants to see dirty old abandoned cars that have spent the last 30 years (or whatever) not doing what they are supposed to be doing?...i.e being driven on the road. Don't know what's sadder....the poor old classic cars that no one has clearly cared about in years or the Muppets that actually pay to go and see them!!! A "Survivors" show?...hell yeah....Id go to that. Original features on untouched cars are cool.....old straw, dust and bird shit are not. :brickwall:

BARN FIND  :smilielol: :smilielol: :smilielol: :smilielol:

You're loss!  It's one of the most popular sections of the best Muscle Car show in the World.  It's why this is our 8th year and this year we filled up in record time!  We have a 7 car wait list for the section.  And all our cars are checked to ensure they are/were legit barn/garage/field finds.

You can read more about it here.

Just like this 1970 Hemi Challenger.  Came out of the barn Wednesday, Thursday was in the show, Sunday back in the barn and people LOVED it.

So you actually put them back in the barns and let them carry on decaying after the show?......makes less and less sense to me....must be an American thing! That HEMI Chally was built to be driven...not rot away in a barn. Clean it, get it running, minimum work to get it safe-ish and legal and drive it as is...cool as....!

They aren't my cars, the owners do with them as they please.  I just asked they bring them to the show.  Sometimes they do take heed and do something with them.  Example below.

This 1970 Barracuda sat in this garage sat in this exact spot since 1977.  How do we know?  He never went over to that side again, leaving everything around the Barracuda pretty much as it was in April of 1977.

My friends and I convinced him to dig the car out and bring it to MCACN.

After that we convinced him to let us help him get the car going again... and we did!

First time on the road since 1977!

Or the 1972 V-Code Road Runner that I photographed years ago.....

Then came to the FIRST Barn Finds and Hidden Gems Display.

And then was fully restored.

So it does happen!

Ryan, Is that the same 72 RoadRunner 6 pak car that's been known to be sitting here in Michigan all these years? LEON.

TheAutoArchaeologist

I don't know of another Road Runner.

But the 72 V-Code Charger is still safely tucked away in Michigan.
