The day has come...saying good by to an old friend, my 70 Charger Drives away

17 years, lots of memories but it was time to let it go. At least I still have my '72 and now I can concentrate my limited time on it to make it almost perfect. I would only sell to someone who would give it a good home and I'm convinced I found that person...car even has a nice "garage pal" to keep it company.  I really don't consider it a sale as much as an "adoption" as silly as that may sound

I'm guessing it would have been a hard decision to make, especially after owning the vehicle for so long.
Gotta love a '69

Thanks for understanding..Yes many considerations over an extended time. In the end we all need to let go of the things we love

Tough call.
I've been considering moving my Charger on for a little while now.
The fact that I built this car from scratch is the hardest thing to come to terms with. There's a very personal connection with all those nuts and bolts when you've labored long and hard to get it done.
My only consolation would be to replace it with another Mopar, perhaps something with a little more poke.
Good luck with your other car. I'm sure you have already decided where to spend the money

Please don't take offense, but only in Florida would there be so many empty driveways with so many cars parked in lawns  :hah: (I lived in Florida for a few years and I'm still a Florida resident)

Sad to see her go I'm sure, but that looks like a good home.  Whoever bought her sure has good taste in cars.

Damn bro, how anyone can sell there charger is painful, let alone any of US over here in Australia seeing as how hard they are to come across.
I have to disagree, how can a second gen charger be replaced with any other Mopar? Chargers are the king. No question about it.
They are the best looking car EVER built, the tuffest looking car, the sexiest looking car. I was at a car show the other day with about 150 other classic cars and not ONE was as appealing as my 68 charger.
Many i am sure felt the same as i noticed majority of the crowd hung around my charger.
i could not even consider selling mine, and ive turned down many offers, some even in the well over 100k range. Said not interested.

:pity:   You know what they say about all good things.

(and......all this time I thought you lived in Alaska....then the palm trees)

I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

AKcharger

Heavy - I was in AK and that's where I found car. By Law however when you retire you have to move to AZ or F: :-)
odcics2 - Agree took me forever to find those deep 15 inch and a LOT of work to bring them back to life!

And of course...the "rest" of the story...I want one of these now!

Looks like mine BUT...that has Creagers, I was running Rallye wheels at the time...Here we are with our coveted Long Distance award! I think it was like 3200 miles round trip!

Bummer, I know the feeling. Sounds like we had/have a lot in common, We both owned 70 Chargers burnt orange with black vinyl tops we had about 17 years & recently sold. And now we both still have a 72 Charger. Strange coincidence. LEON.
