Excellent! I do not remember seeing a photo of a Landy 1970 Charger! Thanks for the shots. Hope this tiurns out to be the real deal for you.

I don't even see a raised portion of the driver's door where the mirror would have been and the '70 Charger in the vintage photo didn't have one either.... Lordy, looks legit to me, from the ohotos anyhow...............

after the info and recent pics, there is no doubt in my mind that is a legit car.. there is no way that car was duplicated back in 1970-1973 to those specs by some "fan" or whatever.. not to that detail. even the old cragars, etc everything is in the right places.. that is such an awesome car. i'd love to have it.. anyone else notice how late of a 1970 that is? i mean we're talking about a late winter/early spring car here.. not one built in late 1969.. so being printed in september 1970.. sure seems about right

At the sake of sounding dumb, aren't most public relation cars built at the beginning of the model year?  With actually both of those VIN's, I would think that's at least a Jan., Feb., March of '70 car???  I can't tell.  I don't know if there was a set timetable on when the PR cars.
I don't imagine the Executive lease cars were built at any certain times of the year. ???

I kind of touched on it Travis.  Definitely a late build.  I don't know the exact numbers, (where 20#### put it) but most definitely later than my Jan., Feb., March call.

Charger_Fan

It sure looks like the real thing to me too.
After this latest round of pics, Dandy Dick has got to be much more interested now! ;D

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I'm guessing March...mainly because this MSO sez March 16th. :icon_smile_tongue:

Car was most likely built on March 18th. Like most of you, I think this car is the real deal. It had to of ended up somewhere, and I'm glad it is where it is. It could be tucked away somewhere never to be heard from again. I'm glad the owner came on and asked about the car.  :2thumbs:

We would love to do a featured page on this car. If any news develops, please contact us admin@1970chargerregistry.com or please post it here.

I agree. I think it's the real deal.

Like Chris said, love to have a feature on it at the 1970 Charger Registry site.

Hello again guys. I e-mailed Hemmings Muscle Machines over the weekend. I don't know how many of you are familiar with them, but they have a great magazine. They e-mailed me back today and said they'd be very interested in doing an article about the car. Somehow, I'm going to try to find a way for DodgeCharger.com to get the credit you deserve for your help.

thanks, Ron

the key word being "MOPAR"  collectors guide.

Ghoste

I agree.  Hemmings take great photos and they sure do love to provide free promotion for the auction world but they must have the WORST muscle car proof readers in the business.  I have seldom seen a magazine that cared less about getting their facts straight.

We're also having correspondance with Mopar Muscle Magazine. I'm not familiar with Mopar Collectors Guide, but we may try to contact them. I don't know if any magazine wants an exclusive story and would be put off by us working with other magazines. I'm not really sure what to do at this point. I don't think theres anything I can do that would make everybody happy.  :-\ ???

Spike

Looks lke some new pics have surfaced at Moparts
bottom of the first page and on the second page.

I wouldn't fret about that. I see the same car featured in Mopar Action, Mopar Muscle and Mopar Collectors Guide all the time. Offer the story up to all 3....first come, first serve.

The 70 Charger Registry would be interested in featuring your car as Charger of the month with a quick write up as well. See examples here:

I wouldn't sweat it either.  There is only one car like yours so I would think they would all jump at the chance to feature it.
Mopar Muscle has a strong LA connection so maybe they would be the one to try and hook the car up with Landy.

Magnumcharger

I posted a request on Moparts.com, asking for pictures of this car.

Did you by any chance buy the car from David Anspaugh or hear that name anywhere in the deal?

Brock Samson

Did you see the shipping weight?. 3,605, man that's light for an R/T SE... of '70 vintage... mines 200 lb. more.
This is such a cool find... My R/T is loosly baised on Dick Landy's '69  S.S. Charger,..
