If you have headers , it could just be them leaking by the gasket. How long does it take for the noise to go away? You said when its warm its ok, is it 2-3min or 5 or 10min. Lifters sometimes do it to. Change the oil and see if it gets better, don't know where you live so I don't know if you should go 10w-30 or 20w-50. If you were in AZ its 100 degrees allready so heck thats straight 30 or even 40 oil. Thats good its ok when warm, even if its piston slap it should be ok for a while.

You are right, there is unsafe cars still being sold today and these 6000lbs SUV's are not as safe as they look. Can't stop as good as a 4000lbs one. They are too high also, they way I drive I would tip or roll them. Not sure when so many people are going to stop dieing every year. I hope its not 50 or so more years. Maybe he just called them "ricers" cause his spelling is as bad as mine,ha ha. Yeah if all the cars on the road were like the "good" ones it would help out. It would also help if all cars and trucks had to get the same milage. But thats is not even being talk about. People complain on $3.00 a gallon gas, but say nothing about the 110 people getting killed everyday on the roads. I guess everybody thinks it won't be them.
