Hey guys as title says, what exhaust/mufflers did 68-70 chargers come with from the factory.
Were they as loud as most of them are now as they were from the factory?
I have 2.5inch flowmasters on mine, were they factory? There damn loud .
Cheers

Head pipes were 2 1/4", mufflers were reverse flow. The restored ones that I have heard have a subtle rumble and are not very loud under throttle. They had to pass noise limitations in all 50 states so I'm sure they had to play it safe.

Thanks for the reply

iS or does anyone have a photo of a brochure or dealer sticker with the exact exhaust factory specs/description, seeing as how almost everything else on the charger from the factory came with its on little piece of writing, id love to see something in writing about the factory exhaust, or photos or something.

All i can seem to find is the photo of the 68 charger saying the RT comes with dual exhausts.

Cheers

Thanks man, love learning more and more everyday about these cars, even owning a beautiful 68 for a year now there is still so much everyday i learn and never knew
Seen a fair few chargers with the common square tip exhausts, then ive seen some with round exhausts, so was never sure which was correct. Appreciate it.

The rectangular tips are correct.  (except on cars with turndowns of course)

Factory correct, to the bend, stock exhaust and Chrysler mufflers with turn down tail pipes on my 383HP Bee. Pipes were duplicated from my OE's by ECS, as well as their licenced reproduction of correct mufflers. These two short videos give a good representation of the sound.
