Beautiful home.

I was in NC / SC a few weeks back and picked up some real estate rags, just for curiuosity.  There are some really nice pieces of property for fairly reasonable prices, compared to Southern Ontario where I am from.

Looks like you scored a beaut.  Congrats!

Chargen69

Your right!  SC in the fort mill area, did the sweet gum trees give it away?

Actually it is tall enough, I just dont know yet how thick the concrete is.  I suppose if I got the right lift, i could cut out the feet sections and make them thicker

You might not have too. If the lift has four pads it will be the same load on the concrete as the four tires in the car. The lift itself can't weight that much. If the concrete is 5" - 6" thick and 3,500 psi, you should be fine. You might want to install the lift on a steel plate at each anchoring location to spread the load on the slab, check with lift manufacturers. Nice garage!!!

Yeah, a lift sounds really cool.  I'm not that old, but it's hard getting anything done 8" off the ground

Where you at in Fort Mill?  I'm in Charlotte, ChrisH from Moparts is in Fort Mill (Yellow Demon, Red Barracuda, Green Barracuda Vert, Green '68 Dart GTS)...I'm sure you've seen one of 'em.

I work in Lake Wylie so I'm only 7 minutes away from beer and wings at Beef O'Brady's in Baxter (35 cent wings during happy hour).

You wouldn't happen to be Joe Jordan's freind would you?

What's a house like that worth? I'm actively seeking to move out of the area into a more rural locale.

In fort mill everything is priced higher than it is worth, because a lot of people work in charlotte, but our taxes are much cheaper than across the state line, and fort mill is small so you get more demand than supply.  This one was about 400,000, but a little bit south of here in rock hill it could be cheaper

BTW it is about 4000 square feet

Wakko

400k is a good deal IMO.  My 1188 square foot house is 220.  :(  Your house would be 2 mil down here.
