Car leaning issue in the rear

Looked through all the threads and couldn't find anything on it. seen all the other stuff on front end torsion bar stuff but...

I have a lean in the rear on the pass side(bout half inch low), just changed shocks and new leaf springs yesterday(didn't fix it).  I do have shackles and am tempted to lower to the next hole to raise it up, then they are uneven but it might solve my problem, any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.
oh yeah, tire pressure is good as well.

thanks

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

ok i keep reading this thread

http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,3159.0.html

i don't believe my front right is sagging like the rear but if i turn the pass bolt in it will raise the right side of my car.  the whole right side or do i need to maybe turn the drivers side out to dip it on that side and so forth.  the car had an alignment recently and i just never noticed this lean before or after until last week when i happened to be staring at the back end.  i've checked everything i can see in the rear and nothing looks bent or broken. like i said new shocks, hd stock springs, air is even all the way around.
my main goal is to raise the right rear of the car about 1/2-3/4 of an inch.

...Yours wasnt a jump car was it? :icon_smile_big:
Just kiddin ya Mike. Seriously though, you might want to do some frame measuring just to make sure she doesnt need some frame straightening.

mikepmcs

crap i knew someone would say that!!
no jump car promise, roger on the frame measure. didn't want to go there G! D! it.

Mike, did you put the springs in the correct locations ? With the xhd springs there is a right and left side....the right side has an extra leaf in it. Just a thought....

I thought about the spring swap too, but I thought the S.S. springs were the only ones with the extra leaf. Learn something new everyday.

Chryco Psycho

often the adjustment of the front T bars can tweak the rear suspension to lean

yep, checked that twice, thanks though. counted leafs as well.

chryco,
so if i adjust that t bar bolt in the center of the lower control arm clockwise i know that will raise front end. that is what you are talking about right. i guess i could tweak both sides(one up, one down a little) and see if that works.
i'm gonna check all the easy stuff one more time tonight first, tires, shocks, springs just to make sure.

I even disconnected the drivers shock to see if that would level it out, but the new leafs held it right there, so i guess they are working anyway :icon_smile_big:

it's raining for the next 3 days here so i can't take it to a known flat surface darnit.
thanks fellas

yeah try leveling the front suspension first , check tire pressures too

mikepmcs

ok checked everything to make sure i'm par. tire pressure was at 25 in the front, but that didn't fix the lean.  to recap, pass side sits a little low in the rear.  so i took 2 rounds out(counterclock) of the driver's t bar and put 2 rounds in(clockwise) on the pass side.
maybe a slight difference and i shook the heck out of the car to set it.

any thoughts on this as, can i go some more?? , i can't see that that would harm it but am looking for any advice.
thanks

How are you measuring the height? I had similar problems with my 73. What I ended up doing was measuring from the ground to the wheel lip centered over the tire on all four wheels. My front was sagging on one side, I noticed it from the rear just like you.

Take measurements of all four corners, adjust the torsion bars to get the front as level as you can and see what happens to the rear. If you want the front higher or lower adjust both sides equally till you are happy.

car lean is good to go, another round out of the driver's side seems to have set it pretty much straight again. now i think i'll drop both fronts to lower the whole front.
thanks for the help and advice.
