So this is the time I go thru the car to make sure it's ready for Carlisle. Coming home from a car show last Sunday it was not running great above 20, seemed to be skipping/sputtering. Last night I started checking it out and noticed a small leak by the fuel pump. When I brought up the RPM's gas really started pouring out. Turns out the joint sealer I used(which claims it's made for gas) on the threaded fittings didn't work so great. On the inlet side it was still ok. On the outlet side the gas had eaten away the joint sealer resulting in a pretty good leak. The drip was hard to notice when the car was just at idle.
Now if I can just figure out why my driver side rear brake on the trailer keeps locking up I'm about ready to roll.

What sort of fittings are on the pump?  Most are flare - which do not seal on the threads, the seal is on the flare.  If teflon tape or pipe dope gets in the pump, it will cause a failure.  Not to sound like a jerk.  I've been a Steamfitter for nearly 30 years, pipe and tube fittings are familiar.

I'm wrapping up new carpet in my Charger, first set in 50 years.  Looking forward to Carlisle.
Mopar forever!

We'll be there but not with one of the Chargers this year.
My wife got her 82 LeBaron Mark Cross edition accepted into the survivor tent. But my good friend Rory is coming with us and bringing his 74 down for the first time.
Looking forward to it.

:o Indeed.    I'll have the 69. Need to clean it up a little bit but there's not much you can do to a dying paint job to make it look fantastic. Will get everything together this weekend. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Any updates on this?  I've not had much time to think beyond what we discussed the other evening.

The bushing for the arm that holds the magnet was worn. So when I hit the brakes the magnet gets attached to the inside of the hub and gets dragged towards the back engaging the brake. When released it would sometimes get hung up on the back side of the brake shoe. Bought a new backer plate and brake assembly with magnet complete for $60.00. Now I have a deformed tire on the other side. Taking The tire to the trailer shop tomorrow. 100 mile test drive on Thursday.

Since the Charger's still in pieces and may still be weeks, if not months, away from getting painted, I'll be bringing the '55 Plymouth wagon.

Heading to Carlisle today. Worst roads on the planet (81).I thought Michigan was bad.
FYI, if heading south thru Scronton, take the 476 bypass if you can. Lane shift and slow down in that section.

Looked around, didn't see any signs for DodgeCharger.com, but did see a few Chargers I recognized from this site.

Just 6T9 CHGR thanks for the link.  :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

I know not your fault but way too many "New" Challenger pics. ridiculous!!

No love for the 68s?? Barely any pics of them on their site.

Next year is going to be worse with 1970 Charger 50 year anniversary. They're already promoting it as we speak.

Where was this for the '69 Charger this year? I know they had a N96 Coronet tent presentation. Was there any for the 69 Charger?

And last year, barely heard a peep on the '68 Charger 50 year anniversary.

But boy you can bet damn sure that the 70 Charger will be supplanted into our faces next year.

Again thanks for the link.

The big attractions this year representing the 50th Anniversary model year were the 1969 Charger Daytonas, the "M" Code 440 A-Bodies, and the A12 cars. There were a decent representation of all models on display indoors as well as a 69 Charger R/T. If I recall, they did have the 68 Chargers on display last year, but the main attraction were the intro of the Super Bees and Road Runners. I'm guessing the main attraction next year will be the 50th Anniversary of introduction of the 1970 E-Bodies (Challengers / Barracudas).

VegasCharger, sorry we missed each other again. I was there and did most of the swap meet with Just6T9, but somehow missed you.

There was a special display for Daytona's and 500's, and another small gathering of '69 Chargers in another building. Big thing this year was the A12 cars. There was a special exhibit for '68 B-bodies, a few Chargers but Super Bee and Road Runner was the spotlight last year.

For '70 in 2020, the big emphasis is going to be E-bodies, you can bet on it. I still plan on bringing my '70 Charger, but really they will pale in comparison. Celebrating the final year of the 2nd gen Charger be the birth of the E-body?  :shruggy:
