71 Charger side stripe location

Getting ready to install the side stripes to 71 Charger and trying to figure out exactly how they should run along the body.

The more pics I look at, the more they seem kind of all over, some higher, some lower.

Some seem to center going through side mirror location, others have more meat below mirrors.

From what I've gathered, it seems if you use the mirror location as a centering point to the middle of the decal, you will end up with it about 50% above and 50% below the top body line at the end of the door. Does this sound correct?

 I paid someone to do mine. The strips lines/follows along the body line. BTW it is the "R/T" stripe correct. ?
