Torque News writes "we are guessing that the big news coming soon pertains to the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody, but we don't know if this is a standard Hellcat or a Redeye version that many people are hoping to see. We also don't know how soon this vehicle is coming, but here's hoping to a short wait, as Charger fans have been waiting for some big updates for years now."

Wonder if they'll address the quantity of doors on the vehicle?  :scratchchin:

Who sits in the back seat?

4 doors for more whores....

On a serious note...I've been a fan of the 4 door chargers since they came out* and I have owned 4 (2006, 2008, 2014, 2018)....but how long is Dodge going to keep putting lipstick on a pig and selling the same thing? The current facelift is 5 years old! Reminds me of that Simpsons episode where Marge finds an expensive dress in a clearance rack, and she keeps altering it so she can fool he  friends into thinking that its a different one.

*hate to tell the 2-door warrior purists...but theyve now been around longer than the 66-74 iterations

Putting small fender flares on a car does not a "Widebody" make ....IMO.

With all due respect...those are not "small" flares IMO. They resemble Bushwacker exend-a-fenders that you put on trucks. They look hideous!  :hah:

I got to sit in my friends new Octane Red Challenger Hellcat Redeye Widebody the other night, and fire it up! I am still ringing out my shorts!

I'm torn on this and do agree.   Sometimes I look and say, -I like that- but does bolting on bushwacker flares qualify as a widebody?

A lot of other -widebody- cars have actual wider body panels.

But then I think, I still like 993 GT2 and that's a multi million dollar car with the clunkiest looking "widebody" ever.

I had, and sold my Charger Hellcat.  Found it kind of frustrating as it couldn't put down the power until high speeds (and I didn't feel like upgrading the driveline to handle drag radials).

I think I would enjoy a naturally aspirated 392 more.

I have a Demon, and drag race it regularly- it is an amazing car, and I've been extremely impressed. Not a single issue with it so far. That said, I completely agree that it would look so much better if the flares were incorporated into the body panels, and anything else looks cheap.

On my 3rd Hellcat, have had 2 Chargers and one Widebody Challenger HC. Personally, we prefer the Charger, even though the WB on the Challenger gets rid of the Humpty Dumpty look (big body/skinny legs) and was the reason we finally bought one. That said, there is just something about having a 4 door that is this much fun and has this much character. For as old as this platform is, I absolutely love it. If/when they announce a Redeye WB Charger, we'll make it our 4th Hellcat.

As for the "tacked on", "JC Whitney catalog", etc... comments, related to the widebody, I get it. That said, I'm not really sure people stop and consider their expectations, before sharing them. Understanding that the WB option is $6k on the Challenger, what would you expect to pay for redesigned front and rear quarters, on a version of the car that makes up a small fraction of the overall sales for the model? $12-15K? No other GT (Challenger) or sedan (Charger) comes close to this combination of comfort, performance and value. Dodge is absolutely killing it. The best way to show your appreciation is to go out and get one.

If they'd make a 6-speed Charger, I'd be tempted to trade up from my Hellcat Challenger.

Have you driven the 8HP90? Given the size and type of car, it suits it very well. I've not driven a better TC based trans. That said, you have be in luck with the next gen Charger, given the platform change and if they're still looking at the Gulia chassis. I know they keep talking about it and it keeps getting pushed. I think they may be 2023 now.

8HP90 is a great auto trans.

That being said I sold my Charger hellcat as I missed rowing gears.

I saw a YouTube video the other day of what I believe was the unveiling. They said ALL Hellcat Chargers were going to be widebody (and that they now have electrically assisted steering like everything else). The widebody is optional on the Scat Pack - and I assume the regular SRT. It kind of makes sense because it allows 315s all around and Hellcats seem traction challenged. I do like how the front and rear valances have the flares molded in (not glued on) but I'm not really floored by the design.

The funny thing about the video is that they pulled off the covers and there was no applause. Everyone was holding up their phone taking video. This is the world we live in...
