A HEMI car with a base trans and rear end? That doesn't sound right to me.

What do you mean? The 727 auto behind the Hemi was a beefed up version (not saying the one included is an actual Hemi spec trans). Hemi cars with autos got the 8 3/4" rear end unless ordered differently.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Based on those rivets not being the correct type, is it the consensus the Hemi VIN, fender tag, and broadcast sheet may not belong to this car?

F8-4life

It could be just as likely that the docs are correct, but the tag had been removed and re-riveted for dash/resto work.
This being based off the fact the car looks q5 and the owner said he's had it for 30 yrs.

chargervert

I have a Charger that has one correct rivet, and one rivet that is not stamped in the rosette pattern.  Galen documented it in his report.  He thinks that one rivet missed the stamping process, and the workers putting didn't notice that it wasn't a rosette rivet. The car appears to have never been taken apart, and every other number and stamping on the car is correct.

birdsandbees

Well he wouldn't reply to my message.. so I'll question the rivets.

Not very convincing is it...I'm no 69 HEMI expert ....but should it not have holes in the doors for the HEMI badges?

not many pictures  :scratchchin:

I'm guessing the doors have been changed from a non Hemi car it would be nice to see the underside to see if it has the torque boxes

Automatic cars got the 8 3/4", the rivets look OK to me and the different color doors/front likely mean they were preplaced and that explains the absence of holes in the door. So much skepticism.  ::)

It really sucks the production numbers by paint code got lost. Would be cool to know how many q5 69 hemi charger were made, can not be many.

One of the pics which tantop missed (or was uploaded at a later time) shows the sequence # on the drip rail. So the body seems to be correct even if the rivets arn't the correct style.

I like the way this guy thinks, if it didn't sell for $45k last time, let's try $70k this time.

Ghoste

It is betting close to Barrett Jackson time, all values automatically go up then.

Wouldn't it be hard to bring that car into united states?

A LOT easier for you to take one South than it is for us to bring one North I can certainly tell you that !! If he has an ownership, come get it, hit the border and go home with it.

We have to worry about a USA car being registered with a clear title, give the border 72 hours notice.. through the one and ONLY broker that is allowed by US Customs to do the paperwork. Coordinate all this and first present yourself to US customs before leaving the USA and have them rubber stamp the paperwork, then show up at Canadian Customs with above rubber stamped paperwork and pay GST on the spot on the purchase price of the car.. and then maybe get to proceed home. What has made me miss a LOT of cars from State side.

Interesting....but the border between you and the States must be thousands of miles long with hundreds if not thousands of roads and tracks between the two counties (not to mention lakes you could sail across). How can that possibly be policed....surely it must be easy to travel between the two counties undetected.....until Trump decides a wall is a good idea of course!....not that that will work having seen Mexicans get over it in 20 second or so on the news the other night ....money well spent there then!

Many ways to get across the border, but a lot less official points of entry. I've never had a hard time importing cars from the US into Canada, and have heard importing them back into the US is even easier. I've driven them across the border myself, and used brokers, not too bad, after you've done one.....

Has nothing to do with "getting across the border" alf... it's being able to actually register the car once you do!
