I will tonight when I get home.. But, basically a nice square piece of wood to place against the lower lip of the molding, 3 to 4" in width and a small hammer... You want to push the lip up from the bottom.. Don't use the can opener..... I'll take a picture and post it here...

Update for you Mark.. Tada !!!

Pretty much done with the disassembly of the ole girl. Have to wait about 2.5 weeks for the blaster I am going to try. Gent says he has a system of stripping the car to include the very resistant factory sound deadening undercoating. I will take him one of my extra fenders that has the same undercoating and see how that goes before I take the complete car there. I want to reduce the chances of something happening to the car during multiple transportation. While I am waiting I will start taking out the whiff-wham attempt to repair the rusty trunk floor back in the 80's and all the window clips.. Thanks to my buddy Julius for enlightening me on another technique for removing the drip rail molding, had one side off in two minutes and the other side in 30 seconds, perfectly..

Bottle opener?
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior

My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

Bottle opener should have been my term not can opener, basically the rounded end not the pointed end but I have seen damage when not done carefully, I like what Troy is saying and sounds like he'll elaborate more this evening.

Is this the salvage yard picture?

Looks to be the one that was in the West Coast of I am not.mistaken.. Looks to be California based on the ground cover, terrain and the apparent rust free condition of the car..

It also appears to have a tan seat hanging out the window, or maybe it's aged white. I remember bone yards back in the day but dang that car sure don't look like it belong in one. :drool5:

Dealing with salvage yards in the early 70S I have seen quite a few stripped out bodies that were scrapped out sad as it is..

Looks identical, I will give ya that...... both apparently in current V2 paint... Would be interesting to know if it was this car.. This is one of the 2 PR C500's that went to California. Most had the Monoco 15" wheel covers, but this one had the steelies.......

Here is documentation when the previous owner to me bought the 500 in the early 80's... $200 !!!!!

A place called Cars Plus in Chesaw, SC

What a return on investment in that one.. I paid him $90,000 !!!  :o

I will say it again because no one seems to notice. The above picture of the bare car, is 100% not the car Troy now has. That picture was taken around 2007-8. I know with absolute certainty that the car Troy now has was not in the Southwest at that time.

Again NOT THE SAME CAR!!!!!!!!!!!

:yesnod:

I will 2nd that... The car, as creepy as it looks like mine, isn't.... My car was sitting on the premises of the previous owner for a VERY long time in Indiana, by way of South Carolina, Tennessee before that, etc....

3 cars went to CA!!!

"You've got to hand it to the Chrysler guys. If they race it, they also sell it."

Those kudos began Steve Kelly's road test of the Charger 500 for the Feb. 1969 issue of Hot Rod. Three Hemi-powered Charger 500s were readied for the test, though one, a four-speed car, was "'borrowed (by person or persons as yet unconvicted) and most of the parts liberated." That's why Kelly spent his evaluation time in an automatic version. He liked the car's roominess, did not like the trunk lid made tiny by Creative Industries' rear-window conversion ("it's about as big as a glovebox door"), said the TorqueFlite "was the way to go on the street," and called the Charger 500 "the kind of car you make excuses to drive."

I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

I was not sure if it was your car Troy, So I posted the picture because I just retrieved pictures from my 12 year old dead laptop and that picture was the last file to load. I knew Danny would know where it came from because I sure couldn't. ;)

Man oh man... Quality !!??

Man, today I started removing the window molding clips, good and rusty..  Noticed something extremely weird, every clip location on the rear window plug has another hole drilled above it !!!!
Talk about a source location for a water leak..

Almost looks like they may have started two other holes above and to the left & right of the top hole.

Operation rotisserie 4 Charger 500..
Well, thanks to Bob for helping with the adaptor brackets and Dave Points for the rotisserie and help, for the old girl fitted today on the ole rotisserie for the future blasting and paint. It worked !!! Some shots of it and the special hemi-car body components. Now need to get the logistics of the blasting and paint shop.

Rotisseries make a restoration fun. I'm sure you already know this, but just make sure the trunk lid's closed before you rotate it upside down.

Don't ask me how I know.

Glad to see you reinforce the door jambs, most people don't do that & these car are quit flexible & bendable with out subframe connectors, ect, ect. LEON.
