this is a bit confusing.
i read thru the op-s initial post on another thread, then here.
first it appears you say you have at least 2 big block cars left, including a hemi daytona with supposedly 4400 miles on it?
then when asked about pics you have to scan some older photographs?

do you actually Own any mopars now,or are these cars you once had ??
thanks in advance for clearing up the confusion.

Hi BeatersRus,                           05 June 2019

I'll try to clear up the confusion:

In 1968 I bought a 68 Hemi Road Runner new from dealer stock. Drove it about 6 weeks and put it away with 4400 miles on it. It has been stored 51 years.

In 1969 I ordered a 440 Six-Pack with radio delete option (didn't want a hole in the fender for the antenna). Drove it about 8 weeks and put it away with 2600 miles on it. It has been stored 50 Years.

In 1972 I bought a used 69 Hemi Daytona and a 70 Hemi Cuda 4-Spd. I sold the Cuda in 1975 and at the same time put the Daytona in storage with the others. I sold the Cuda for a number of reasons, mainly I did not much care for driving it; it was more like being in a buckboard from the old western movies. Wish now that I still had it.

The Daytona has 39,000 miles on the clock. All three are sitting in my garage as they have been for the past 40 years. To transport the Daytona to its present location I had to remove the nose.

I special ordered my 87 Stang Cop car from a dealer friend. It has 000003.6 miles on the clock. It is currently stored elsewhere; it has been stored 32 years.

I hope this clears up any confusion I may have caused by the way of my previous postings. My apologies for not being clear as to the status of the cars.

As for pictures, I have very few and all are on film. The cars are filthy from sitting 40 years. Few people even know of their existence and location. I prefer it that way. There have been times when someone has learned of their existence and I then get offers to buy them, all I have turned down simply because I didn't want to sell them. Just owning them is a big part of it, especially the Daytona; She is one of 70 so only 69 others could have a genuine Hemi Daytona.

This brings up another issue: Phony Hemi Daytona's. When I have time I'll post about one I was positive was a phony; it was offered for sale as a restored Hemi car. Looked good, was selling for over $1Mil. I noticed a flaw that only a Hemi owner would know. Will write about it later (this is called a Hook).

I love my interceptor, she was also a special order. I have had her over 140 in chases ( the rev and speed limiters were disabled by a friendly Ford Mechanic ); she never lost a chase. I had an aftermarket device that allowed me to run dark at night, no brake lights or any other. When I pulled up behind the runner and hit the lights, it was all she wrote. I was working in the boonies.

Hope You all have a beautiful MOPAR day and a Beautiful FORD day too.

I Love my Girlfriend and I can assure you she isn't Moparlady, who I'll bet is a right nice gal and beautiful lady. Someday, maybe my Girlfriend and I will get to meet Moparlady; my Girlfriend and I will be driving Fords.

Gotta go, work to do.

Best Always,

here is "maybe" your Christmas present for the day  :shruggy:

there are only 40 HEMI Daytonas, it looks to be an even split - 20 automatics & 20 4-speeds (this includes the 5 that went to Canada)

there have been rumors for years of an long-time owner/survivor type orange HEMI Daytona in Texas - now "WE" know more of the story!  :2thumbs:

Where did you get 40 from?  The GG book shows 70 Hemi Daytonas, 48 auto,  22 4spd and 5 Canadian cars which I'm not sure if that is included in the 70.

while i appreciate the response,i feel compelled to advise you that the " moparlady" that is referenced,
was actually a " person" who keeps joining various mopar Websites,
like this one,and then claiming to have mopars but of course, never being able to produce Actual pics of the supposed cars.
she,or he,has been banned from many forums already.
so,in closing,i wouldnt recommend hooking up~ with her/him/it,should you happen to run into them.

also, even pics of your fender tags would be nice and im sure wouldnt reveal their location to the world??
any chance of those?
i realize from the dates given that you are a bit older than myself,do you get out to see the cars at all?

Hi BeatersRus.                   05 June 2019

OK, My Girlfriend kicked my bum and said I should take a photo of the fender tag. So, I went out in the garage, climbed over the camouflage and decoys, opened the hood and shot you a photo of the fender tag. I hope this will convince you that my Girlfriend and I are not imposters.

Yes, we are both a couple years older than 37, and have been for several years. Exactly how many? Whose counting and who cares; surely not us.

It's funny how rumors pop up. It has been many years since the garage door has been open enough for someone to see inside. When it has been open the exposed parts of the cars have been well covered.

There have been times when word has gotten out that we have the cars. We just never had any interest in selling them. Yes, there have been offers, very lucrative ones and all have been rejected. Bragging rights can mean a lot to some people and they have meant a bit to Us. It's more like a game, We sell them and We are out of the game.

We have attached a photo of the fender tag for all members of this site. Look it over and give us your opinion. More pictures will be forth coming as we get the time. My Girlfriend is the Photographer and the Brains of this endeavor. Be nice to Her and She will provide more photos in due time.

Hi Nascarxx29,                   05 June 2019

Thank you for the decode. We have often wondered where she came from. Now we know.

Out of curiosity, Do you know if Race Motor Sales Inc. is still in business?

What do all the other numbers on the fender tag mean? Can they be "decoded?"

Thanks in advance, more photo info will be coming, albeit, as we have time.

CJ, do you have a broadcast sheet for the HEMI Daytona?  have you looked for one?

Christmas present #2 or maybe it's your birthday (I didn't forget that you aren't counting, but you do still celebrate - correct?)  :smilielol:  ..... aren't you glad you joined DodgeCharger.com?

Gene Gregory found the broadcast sheet for XX29J9B381532 in XX29L9B386572, I believe Galen Govier is currently in possession of the sheet  :shruggy:

& Galen was recently in TX reuniting the broadcast sheet to a HEMI 500 http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,134993.125.html (see last post)

Hi 6bblgt,                       06 June 2019

Years ago someone suggested I look for one and found nothing. Don't remember the name of the person I bought it from nor the town he lived in. It was some small burg kind of in the country.

Who's the mystery person in Texas? It's large state with lots of folks that have a passion for cars. We just happen to have several and enjoy having something rare and desirable. Very few folks know of them and fewer have ever seen them. Our neighbors haven't a clue what is in our garage. They probably think Fords as that's what we have been driving for many years.

In a prior post I mentioned Phony Hemi Daytona's and phony Hemi cars. Somewhere around 10 - 15 years ago there was a high dollar operation selling collector cars. They were in Ohio, east of Cleveland along I 90. They had a fancy website and lots of hype.

At some point I noticed they had a Hemi Daytona for sale for over $1mil. The pictures were fantastic and very detailed; too detailed for their own good. All Hemi cars from the 60's have a unique forward rear spring attachment point. It is boxed in and highly reinforced. Every genuine Hemi car has this. The one they had For Sale was missing this critical piece. When I brought it to the business owner's attention, he brushed it off with a phony comment that Chrysler stopped putting them on all cars after 1968. I asked him why my 69 Hemi Daytona had them and theirs didn't. Eventually someone in Florida bought them out and moved everything to there. Didn't keep track of them after that. Was wondering if anyone here remembers them.

Need to go to bed, still have one air spring to install in the Interceptor; driver side this time. 19 years is pretty good considering they sat for 8 years in a deflated condition.

not sure if this is the car you're talking about ......

"Best of Show" was in Mentor, Ohio (on RT 2 west of Cleveland) & "merged" (or some other appropriate term) with "RK Motors" in Charlotte, NC

they had what is probably best known as "the J.C.Witney or Ed Ryan HEMI Daytona" XX29J9B381538, also a V2 automatic w/4.10s - not aware of it missing its rear "torque boxes", but YES, it should have them

I'm from east of Cleveland, OH but currently live in Las Vegas, NV - I thought you said you were in TX, but maybe I was mistaken & got mixed up with Troy's post  :scratchchin:

Pretty sure the asking price on this one was $600k, and they had it advertised for a very long time.

Good Morning Folks,                            06 June 2019

Glad to see you know the car I mentioned. I know my recollections are a bit suspect and figured some of you could put the pieces together. I hope no one paid big bucks for that Daytona.

When I mentioned them being missing, the business owner had a right fast BS answer, too fast, that Chrysler stopped putting them on Hemi cars after 1968, I knew that was bogus. Our 68 RR, 69 Daytona, and the 70 Hemi Cuda all have/had them. 6bblgt remembers the place better than I do; he's on the money and has jogged my memory. Thank You.

Going to the Hemi Cuda; it was sold to a young man in 1975. About a year later one of my friends said they saw it in a junk yard totaled. Somewhere around here I have the vin number for it. I'd like to find the owner of the engine because when I sold it, it had the Daytona's Carbs on it and I have the carbs from the Cuda. They only had about 8K miles on them. The original owner rarely drove it and I didn't drive it much either. That set of 4-spd Hemi carbs has to be one of the best used set of Cuda 4-spd carbs in existence.

While speaking of carbs, We just happen to have a set of the Holley 1500 CFM IR carbs that are still new and in their original boxes from 1969. They are heavy monsters, about 13 pounds each.

That's it for this morning. Still have to feed the pups, take them on poopy patrol, eat my Bfast, run a few errands and get back to finishing Vic (Interceptor). I want to thank all of you for your hospitality and love of the Mopars.

Thanks again; Best Always,
