Welcome, but by the way, your math doesn't work?  :eek2:

Christine, please start a thread about your cars if you wish to do so. After all the time you have spent preserving them,as well as picking the right cars to preserve, I am sure they will be of interest to the people here on Dodge Charger.com.

Hello Folks,                         01 June 2019

I'm new here so I'll probably mess things up a bit until I get used to your forms.

I have a couple Mopars, actually three and a couple Fords, actually three.

I've had the Mopars since 1968, 1969 and 1972. The first two I bought new, a 1968 Hemi Road Runner and a Dodge Super Bee 440 Six-Pack. They have 4405 and 2681 miles on them respectively. They have been stored since the year I purchased them. In 1972 I bought two additional Mopars, a 1970 Hemi Cuda 4-spd in Vitamin C and a 1969 Dodge Charger with a 426 Hemi, Hemi Orange, Auto Tran and a black stripe on the tail. It also has a funny looking front bumper on it, kind of like the one I have on my face, and a great big wing in the back over its tiny trunk. It has 39,735 miles on its clock. Oh yeah, the black stripe has the letters DAYTONA on it. I don't think it has ever been to Florida so I don't see the significance. It also has a weird number on the dash XX29J9B381532; oddly enough the engine and transmission have the 9B381532 number stamped on them as well.

As odd as it may seem, the other two Mopars have a similar situation, the funny numbers on the dash show up on the Engine and Transmission. What's the significance of that?

Unfortunately I sold the Hemi Cuda in 1975 but have kept all the others hidden away for 51, 50, 44 and 32 years respectively. By the way, I'm 39 Years Old. The last car at 32 years, is a Mustang Police Car with 000003.6 miles on the clock, a 5 Spd Tranny, PS, PB, Posi, AM/FM Cassette Player and Graphic Equalizer, Gray in and black out.  It has never been titled nor driven on a roadway.

I'm not pretty, actually kind of homely so don't get any ideas of hitting on me thinking I'll part with one of my kids for a few fancy compliments.

Does anyone know what these things might be worth?

I think this is enough for a first introduction. I hope you don't mind my including the information on my Ford toys.

Best Always,

Hi Folks,                   03 June 2019

Started this thread at the urging of a couple members. Since it's late and I have work to do on my Ford Police Interceptor (Yes, I was a cop and had my own Cop Car, 2 actually), I'm going to make this short. I will post pictures when I can find them. I do have one right here on my desk of the Daytona, taken not long after first acquiring her in 1972. I'm giving the photo to my girlfriend and SO (the answer to what you are thinking is YES) to scan so we can post it.

Seems some folks have rules for their own thread's so here are mine:

Anything goes as long as it is civil, no name calling, no foul language and no hurling stones.

If you have something to say that's interesting, say it. If you have a question, ask it and I will answer it if I can. If I can't I will try to find the answer.

I'm a multi-disciplined (Electrical, Electronic, Data Systems, IT) Engineer, Electrician, Plumber, Carpenter, Mechanic, Arborist, Pilot, LEO (Cop) Management Consultant, Veteran (US Navy) ex-Biker (Harley Driver). There's probably something I missed but at this point, who cares.

I'm going to close for now, my Ford Interceptor has Air suspension in the rear. The right air spring has a leak I'm going to try and temporarily repair in the AM. I have a new set of Heavy Duty springs coming in a couple days from Rock Auto. My Girlfriend mostly and I to a lessor extent engineered a temp fix for the Air-Spring. If it works I'll post the fix and provide photos.

In the meantime, live life to it's fullest; it's meant to be enjoyed, as long as you do no harm to anyone other than yourself. Hopefully I won't be misunderstood; I'm not condoning suicide. If you want to sky-dive, have at it. Just remember, you jumped out of a perfectly good airplane trusting that you or someone you may not know packed your parachute correctly. I don't trust someone I don't know with my life; it's bad enough driving in traffic.

Take Care, God Bless you all.

Maybe it's just me (probably!)...but am I alone in thinking that was a very strange opening post....laying down rules etc....but hey I did a few parachute jumps in my 20s and 30s.....so what the hell does the strange limey know eh? So I think I'll sit back..look at the photos when they arrive ...I like photos (im assuming they are old enough that they were taken on film if you need to scan them first) and watch from a distance...nice and quiet like!
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you !!

Hi Alfaitalia,                      04 June 2019

Rules, hmm, seems I was hit by someone's rules when I first posted on this site, so I thought I'd play the same game but kind of Tongue-in-cheek. If you stick around long enough, you'll get used to my corn-ball humor.

As for the photos, I have to find them; 47 years and numerous relocations may hinder the process. I'll find them and will post them. I do have a photo of the Daytona from 1972. I'm going to send it to my Significant Other / Girlfriend so She can scan it and correct any imperfections. Once it's done I'll post it here.

I used to drive the Daytona when I took my vacations in Canada. Went through Michigan's UP. While driving the Interstate in the UP, I decided to test the Daytona at high speed. My buddy was following, we both had CB's and had prearranged signals. We also changed our CB's to each transmit and receive on alternate bands. This made it almost impossible for the average person to listen to both sides of our conversation.

I started on my journey to speeds I had never before experienced while driving a car. I got to 140 when I received a message that a Mounty was coming up rapidly. I backed off on the peddle and let her coast. As I approached 100 the State Trooper came flying by and kept on going. About 10 minutes up the Interstate, he had pulled over and was talking to someone while standing on the median strip.

All I can say is the Daytona handled well and still had a lot left in her. She has a 3.55 rear gear though I would have preferred a 2.73. I had three Hemi cars, the Daytona being the best runner and the Cuda being the worst; it had a 4.10 gear set, which made driving any distance an unpleasant chore.

The Interceptor is down due to a defective right side Air-spring. A new set should arrive today, hopefully early enough so I can install them before it gets too dark.

Our temp fix couldn't work because the air bag is too worn, it is down to the cords. 19 years on the same bags has to say something for Ford or who ever made them.

To hemi68charger and to all veterans, thank you all so much for your service to our country.

It's late and I have an appointment with a doctor today. Need to hit the rack and see if I can get a full night's sleep.

Best Always,  Hasta luego

Hi warmpancakes,                            04 June 2019

I Like your screen name. I also like pancakes loaded with blue berries smothered in hot real maple "surple."

Thank you Roger Miller for the song "Dang Me" and "Maple Surple."

P71's were Fleet cars, all options available. My Police Mustang was ordered with a Graphic Equalizer. How many of those have you seen in cop cars?

this is a bit confusing.
i read thru the op-s initial post on another thread, then here.
first it appears you say you have at least 2 big block cars left, including a hemi daytona with supposedly 4400 miles on it?
then when asked about pics you have to scan some older photographs?

do you actually Own any mopars now,or are these cars you once had ??
thanks in advance for clearing up the confusion.
