Just a quick one,                                  06 June 2019

I hope no one thinks we are Internet trolls. It was a real pain to get membership here. We almost decided to just go away after having jumped through every hoop we could think of. Finally received an email from a moderator saying our membership was handled manually (interesting). Well, we're glad to be here. Here's a tidbit, We knew Galen has the build sheet and he does know of the car.

We'll get you more info when we can. We are busy most of the time so we have limited time to devote to the cars. We do see them from time to time. Haven't been in one in many years. The last time I think was 1987.

Best Always,

not sure if this is the car you're talking about ......

"Best of Show" was in Mentor, Ohio (on RT 2 west of Cleveland) & "merged" (or some other appropriate term) with "RK Motors" in Charlotte, NC

they had what is probably best known as "the J.C.Witney or Ed Ryan HEMI Daytona" XX29J9B381538, also a V2 automatic w/4.10s - not aware of it missing its rear "torque boxes", but YES, it should have them

I'm from east of Cleveland, OH but currently live in Las Vegas, NV - I thought you said you were in TX, but maybe I was mistaken & got mixed up with Troy's post  :scratchchin:

Hi 6bblgt,                            06 June 2019

That sounds like the place and do remember a merger or buyout. After spotting that "Daytona" and talking to the owner, I rarely went back to the website; one of the times I did go back, there was a notice about the change in ownership and the move.

Thanks for the decode. I didn't say where we are; our Home is in Phoenix and Texas is where we have a house, not our home. I used to have an office in Beechwood on US 422 (Chagrin Blvd). That was a long time ago.

One of my favorite roads up that a way is Canal Road. The Daytona has run through there numerous times in the early 70's at speeds multiple times the legal limit. We'd never do it again with her and my SO/Girlfriend wouldn't allow it. XX29J9B381532 cannot be replaced; so as long as we have her, she'll never see the highway again unless being transported to Phoenix, under guard and escorted by us armed as well.

We are glad we are here. Thanks for having us.

Thanks Again, Best Always,

Hi 6bblgt,                               06 June 2019

We asked him to keep it so it wouldn't get lost. We've known about it for years.

The one thing that's difficult to reconcile is the time that has passed since we acquired them. Seems like yesterday.

Thanks everyone, Best Always,

it originated in the thread on my car for some bizarre reason. here are the posts from it, preserved for posterity should they (hopefully) be removed from "my" thread.
perhaps my first, second, and every instinct since is wrong here, but i'm just glad to see this yarn moved to its own thread.

I stand by my first post here and call BS on the lot of it. Who has to jump through hoops to be a member here. Just log, create password and user name...BOOM...done. Every post is weird and is written in a strange way...to me as least. Maybe she is just a weird person and I'm not reading her posts as they are intended to be understood...lol....in which case that's great and welcome to my world!

Hi Moparpoolman,                    06 June 2019

Super Bee Six-Pack; the Road Runner was called 6-Barrel or something to that effect. Our RR is a Hemi.

When you see the 3 cars packed into a two car garage, you will understand why it is difficult to photograph them. We will get to it, just when time permits.

Hi Birdsandbees,                           06 June 2019

Galen's always been nice to us. Granted, we haven't had a lot of dealings with him but the ones we have had have always been pleasant.

Speaking now for myself and not my Girlfriend/SO, I'm sure I could find someone that would like to do a number on me; I haven't been an angel all my life.

Now speaking about my Girlfriend/SO, she is an angel, my Guardian Angel. She has saved my life; if it weren't for her, I wouldn't be here today.

Have a Good one.

Heck! Open the garage door, snap a pic of the three of 'em in the garage, covered or not, would be good enough for me!  :2thumbs:

Opening the doors and taking a few pictures would be a start !!!!!!!!!! :scratchchin:

Hi Moparpoolman, Birdflu,                                  06 June 2019

We know it sounds like a simple task, which it should be under normal circumstances. The last time we attempted to open the door it was almost all the way up when the rollers jumped out of the track. We stopped the door and pulled it part way down, got the rollers back in the track and put it down permanently. Have you ever tried to get an overhead door company to work on a door while there are cars in the garage? Won't happen.

What happens when cars sit for 40 years on their tires? Those tires deteriorate and go flat. Our plan is to dismantle the door from the top down and trash it. Once the door is out of the way we can bring the Daytona out; she is in the middle. After she's out the other two can be jacked up and moved towards the center then moved outside. Once all three cars are out the old tracks and associated door hardware can be removed and junked; a new light weight door will then be installed.

Next, the cars will get cleaned up, new weenies and jack stands for all four corners. Then It's back in the garage for another ?? years.

We will get you pictures, it'll just take more time than we had hoped. We're not about to risk putting that door up and having it come crashing down on the cars. It's a heavy old wooden door and would do irreparable damage.

So that's it in a nutshell.

Best Always,

BeatersRus

ty for uploading the pic of a fender tag.
also,ty for the explanation of your cars current status.

as we have tried to explain before, there are a few members who never seem to be able to find actual pictures of their cars.
for example > this guy here  :hah:
( right Jb? i see you are over here as well, with 25k posts and no pics of any actual owned cars Again!! :smilielol: )

im not sure why you were so snarky towards the op whose post you initially started on btw.
it is kind of rude to bag someone elses thread.
i read his thread as well and i can totally understand him not wanting confusion and it was confusing.

i am Glad that you realize that a lot of us would like to see the cars,in any condition.
some stories rock, some stories suck, but without pics, its all fiction.
cant call it pulp fiction,as its the Net,but you get the drift.
cheers.

btw,i keep thinking about this 87 police interceptor you have.
please correct me if im wrong, but that would have been a fox mustang with heavy duty springs and no airbags?
these were considered pursuit vehicles only,as i recall??
