Yah, but mine's about the same for cleanliness on my '69 Lynch Rd Bee, so maybe they were a tad more sober there than other assembly lines!  That said, mine still has the mill marks at least...

This car is an over restored show car. Its absolutely stunning. My friend owned it for years and had Julius restore it.
