Here we go, what's the best out there.  I'm hearing different opinions on the mopar performance.  mine is Mopar Performance B/RB Hydraulic Camshaft
Camshaft, Hydraulic Flat Tappet, Advertised Duration 284/ 284, Lift .484/ .484, Mopar, Big Block,

69 383.
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Depends on the application.  :P

Generally speaking ; the MP grinds are old school and have poor street manners.....there are much better grinds available. Crower has a couple of split pattern profiles that work really well. The Lunati "voodoo" cams look promising. Engle is allways a descent choice.

For solid flat tappet cams ; Comp or Engle would get my vote. If ordering an Engle grind it would have to be custom because they don't offer a split pattern stick. The Comp XS series solids are excellent cams and available as a split pattern right off the shelf.

I have the MP hemi-grind cam in both of my 440's. I don't know that they are the best but they're not bad. It would be interesting to have the time to experiment with other grinds.

I am running the Comp High Lift series cam now.  Lift and duration is listed by Int/Ext.
.545/.545 lift
  241/247  Dur @ .050
  110 LSA

I ordered a custom Engle Solid cam.

.560/.575 Lift
  245/253  Dur @ .050
  108 LSA

This is in a 9.35 to 1 comp 383 with 906 ported heads. The cam size looks big but as firefighter says, the new grinds have awesome street manners.
If it ain't wide open; it ain't running.        Rule number one in motocross racing: Pin it; row the gear box; and wait until you hit something.     At work my motto is: If you need me, call someone else.

Engle K56....tossed away the purple shaft

Chryco Psycho

it depends on the purpose of the engine
I use mopar purple cams for some builds , mostly I use the .528 solid with 1.6 ratio rockers , this is an awesome street cam
I use UltraDyne/ Lunati for more extreme solids only because I can buy them significantly cheaper than Engle solids , other than that the grinds are very similar
I use almost exclusivly Engle Hyd cams

Ghoste

I have the MP Street Hemi (484) in my 383.  I wouldn't necessarily call it a bad cam but it is not the ideal for my setup.  It'll be coming out soon enough.

It's pretty stock and it isn't ideal.  That cam on a 10.5 to 1 engine with a Holley Street Dominator and Holley 750 vacuum secondary carb.  A different cam is what it needs to wake it up and it mainly comes back to the vacuum issue in my case.

General_01

I am using a Lunati hydraulic cam.

Advertised Duration: 292 in/292 ex
Duration at .050: 230 in/230 ex
Lobe seperation: 109
Lift: .480 in/.480 ex
It was installed 2 degrees advanced.

I have a 440, bored .040 over, stock heads, Torker II intake, 850 Speed Demon, Hedman headers, TCI automatic 727 w/3000 stall converter.

Next step down the road is some Edelbrock aluminum heads, although I can roast the tires off the car as it is. :icon_smile_big:
