Right around the 12 second mark, does anyone see an issue with that spot on the rocker panel?  Is it dirt/mud?  Buffing compound?  An attempt at hiding bondo?  I'm no paint/body man so I was hoping an expert eye would be able to tell.

Thanks

First off, the guy shooting the video is an idiot. Vertical aspect looks terrible. Notice how he tries to tilt the phone/camera INSTEAD of keeping it in horizontal aspect the entire time.
I see vertical videos and almost always turn then off and move on. Doing it correctly is not difficult. Doing it wrong is lazy and substandard.
Finally, there is some type of blemish but I was too annoyed to look any closer. If this is a car you are considering, contact the "photographer" and tell him how to do it right!

Yes, it's a vehicle I'm considering for purchase.  I was sent still shots as well, but they're all at an angle in regards to side views.  Here are two of them.

I requested photos from those specific angles as well as from the underside.  We'll see what I receive.

Either go look at the car yourself or find someone to go look it over for you.  :Twocents:   Pictures are a good place to start followed by a phone conversation but nothing beats having someone put eyes on the car for you and get tons of pics.  It's a really fast way to filter out the BS because they usually dance around setting up a viewing.

I benefited greatly from the help of other Mopar/Charger owners during the search for my charger.

The area where the spot shows up in the video is the spot where the factory blended the rear quarter panel to the rocker panel with lead. It is a common spot for bubbling on these cars. If the car has had rear quarter panel replacement,as most have it was probably blended with body filler in that area. It is possible that it was a reflection, but it is right where these cars are known to have issues. I recommend as stated an in person visual inspection, before paying any money out.

I received two videos of the underside and another photo. The videos are vertical so I won't even torture anyone with those. And the photo was still taken from an angle. Not directly from the side. I notified the seller what I was concerned with and I still received distant photos at angles and vertical videos. He's also posted a second ad for the car since. It's not a factory 4 speed. I'm still cogitating on driving(~4 hours) up there to see it in person, but I'm most likely going to pass on it.

It does sound like the seller is a bit of an idiot. Good luck in your search.

Thanks.  I did find this one this morning.  It's advertised here:  https://www.facebook.com/pcclassiccars/?epa=SEARCH_BOX

It's a GL clone.  And it's advertised here:  https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/ctd/d/sherman-1969-dodge-charger-general-lee/6877310744.html

He does have photos of the under side as well as side photos.

This is not a good sign

Exterior:
•Amateur paint over amateur bodywork.

Who knows what is under the paint or how long it will last
next project 70 Charger FJ5 green

I was thinking the same thing. This appears to be the same seller of the green 70 RT Charger that was posted in another thread.

4hrs one way?  I guess I'm old (or is that young?) but that seems like a no brainier to go view a car that's worth upwards of 25k. That's no more than a day at the office. I started to look for help when driving further than 8hrs one way.

I'll admit though, the Charger I bought was 4 and change hours away from me and I had a member swing through first because he worked in the same town and I couldn't get away to look at it for a few days. That got me in front of the seller as fast as possible. After his report I was in the car as soon as I could to check it out. Ended up buying it.

I work 7 days a week. But a friend of mine was going to drive up and inspect it for me. He's got a more experience when it comes to that. Plus he used to own a 69 Charger. It appears the ad has been taken down so I'm assuming the vehicle has been sold. He wouldn't have been able to make it until the weekend. And I have to schedule time off anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks in advance. I'm in no hurry and there'll be others. And while I'm a DOH fan, I prefer factory color combinations. I probably would've changed the paint anyway.

It's back up on CL for 37,500.

The red Charger is still up but the GL clone sold in about 2 days. I don't plan on looking at that red Charger anyway. I showed the videos to three friends of mine that do paint/body, and all three recommended to keep searching.
