Hey I need some advice. I have a 1970 Charger small block. Already have headers but need to replace the mufflers. What would yall suggest? Want some aggressive sound but not the drone at cruise to put me to sleep. I also like the snarl or pop when you gas it. Thinking about the Borla, but not surer which one. Any suggestions?

I suggest youtube, followed by hitting your local cruise circuit. What i like, you may not. Fwiw, i have yet to see a performance muffler that did not drone at a given rpm regardless of manufacturer or style.

Borla's sound too European to me. I have Magnaflows straight flows, way too quiet for my taste. I do like the sound of Thrush and Cherry bomb glasspacks.

i like the 14in magnaflow mufflers on my truck. loud enough to matter, without the issues of drone. some like it quieter, like only hear it with the windows down, so the 18 or 24 magnaflow would probably suit that.

I liked how Dynomax Ultraflows worked on my 440.  I don't ever recall any drone from them, but they might a little and I don't notice.  Nothing like the SuperTurbos I had, those did drone.  Honestly, Ultraflows might be too quiet for some, I know I'm surprised they aren't louder being a straight through design

Dynomax UltraFlows here as well, I just finished my exhaust and haven't driven the car yet but I'm happy with the sound so far. I did a full 3" system with h-pipe with side exit oval tubing and it has a great sound IMO. It's not as loud as I expected but has a really deep tone. Youtube links below.

With straight through mufflers, more compression will amplify the sound levels.

I went from Dynomax to Magnaflow.

I installed this: https://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/mpe-11256/overview/

Have a 505 stroked 68 charger with indyheads and a mild camshaft from comp cams and tti headers. To me I prefer the magnaflow as it sounds deeper and just a little bit more aggressive with no noticable drone.

At this moment I do not have a video as my mobile could not record the sound :-) will make another video with a gopro.

Cheers

When your exhaust overpowers the cellphone mic, you are winning. Lol
