Nice looker, though I am not a fan of that color. Looks very solid. Trunk floor looks to have been repainted though. I cannot imagine a 49 year old trunk floor looking that nice.

Car has been resprayed... hood to fender bumpers, rear window rubbers, etc are all covered in overspray.

Yes, That's obvious to a blind man it been resprayed by Earl Scheib. I think $20k would be more realistic :shruggy: :slap:

Ok  guys enlighten me. What is that tube-pipe behind the pass side wheel well?

The seller is right though. What a platform for a clone-tribute car. Still take a pile of money.

Some sort of California air quality gizmo.

With a quick paint job like that I wonder what it is hiding.   Been there done that with a purchase.    I'm right in Dundee, never saw the car before.   I don't recognize the buildings either.

This doesn't feel THAT overpriced to me given the current market. Yes it's 'only' a 318/auto car but the underside and interior look exceptionally clean and original. Sure there could be some horrors hiding under the paint but based on the undercarriage I doubt there's much rust in the rest of the body. $20k-$30k feels more in-line but pretty much anything with four wheels and vin tag seems to be pull $20k these days...

Agreed. $40k is too much for that car but it's not stupid-high.  It would probably sell for $30k easily enough.   The 1970 year, all original metal, the car looks quite intact, and the weird color . . . factors adding up.
