What is the difference between the '69 hood and the '70 hood......I saw someone post that the 'scallops' on the top of the hood are different

I know the hood mounted turn signals are different, and the front hood lip edge is different......are the scallops actually different?

Daytona R/T SE

Bryan,

Yes, The hood indentations are different, as is at least the front part of the under hood frame work/bracing.

I discovered this when I was trying to find a rust free portion of the front under hood frame to fix/modify the hood for my Daytona.

Checking through my hood stash, I found several differences between the 68, 69 and '70 hoods.

Wondering then... Daytona hood would be 68/69 scallops look with the front edge cut like 70s?

Daytona used 70 style front fenders so was an early production 70 hood also ( the early 70 hoods are a little different on the under side than the later 70 hoods )

"Scallops" in question were the indents along the BOTTOM inner metal bracing, along where the rubber meets the cowl.  Those areas are different from a real Daytona hood, compared to a 70 Charger hood.

There was a thread on it, with photos, a while back...
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?
