This is a charger here for sale in Australia, roughly 49k US dollars.
Generally here that is roughly what they go for and sell within a few days, 70-80k AUD seems to be the going rate for chargers here in AUS, when they pop up for sale.

Its been up for a little while though, ive had my eye on it and it seems to still be sitting up and i wonder why, There is HUGE demand for dodge chargers here now, EVERYONE i know loves them and at that price im suprised it hasnt sold. I have seen 68-69 chargers sell the last year for 10k more.

I know its only a 383 car and not an RT/440, so perhaps that has to do with it not selling, but IMO Aus people i dont think this would really deter them, doubt theyd know any different unless they knew there stuff. lol

Anyways.

Go look at it if you can.. quick repaint as you can see they painted right over the engine compartment wire looms and the wiper motor was quickly spray painted without removing it, you can see the over spray of black surrounding it on the firewall. Nut missing on the brake booster reinforcing plate, etc.

I've been eyeballing this one too. OK car, but overpriced IMO, especially for a non R/T. No harm in asking though I guess.

I scan the car sites almost daily and have noticed that Chargers do not sell quickly here at all.
Some are way overpriced at 100k+ and have been on sale for years.

Just because cars disappear off the trading sites doesn't mean they have been sold. Many reappear months and years later, being sold by the same seller.
There is a 68 for sale at the moment that has just come up, it was for sale this time last year.
Another 69 was for sale in August last year, disappeared and is now back. I'm quite keen on it, but it's about $15k too high for me.

Aussies will pay big money for Aussie muscle, (Aussie muscle kind of bores me) and while there is demand for American Chargers over here, no one wants to cough up this kind of $$$ to own one.

The real 68 R/T which sold for $72k at last years Shannon's auction was a fair price I thought.
These are just my observations.

Hey mate hahaha let me take a stab at this
the 69 was the black one? for 70k cloned RT.
the 68 was the red one listed atm for 79k

And yea your probably right, chargers here dont sell as quick as i thought when u think about it, the ones that do on the facebook groups im in seem to but then again there priced 10-15k lower then whats on the market here ATM. Mid 50s to 60k.

i like the one on ebay that ive posted the link too, looks in pretty good condition but yea i also agree, 10-15k overpriced.

What stuck in my mind was the frequently bought together part....
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

Hey Jefferson, dead right on both accounts.

There is also a 383 General in the ACT, it looks neat, but has been advertised on and off for a while.
I'd pay 60k to 65k for it, piss off the decals, fix a few minor things and thrash it about.
I hope they get the money they are looking for, but it seems that no one is interested at these prices.

I have a genuine matching numbers '68 R/T, unmolested, console car, highly optioned, in a desirable color and I think realistically it is only worth about 75k to 80k.

What fb groups do you check out that have Chargers advertised? I'd be keen to check them out.
Cheers,

Yours is the blue 68 correct? B5 blue? number plates TR440 or something? If so, beautiful charger mate, seen the photos of it on the shannons website.
Whats the story behind your car if you dont mind me asking?
You import it in from the states, or buy it from someone here?

TPR

Yep that's me, TR440. (@tpr440 on Instagram)

My car is coded UU1 Light Blue Metallic, but the actual colour of my car is closer to B5.
I am told by Mopar people who are much wiser than me, that UU1 is a fair bit lighter than what I have and I take their word for it as I've never seen UU1 in the flesh.
The colour of my car varies a lot based on lighting conditions. -as does most though I guess.

The short version of my Chargers story is that when I finally saved enough coin to make a purchase, (I was looking for a '69 and was searching online in the States) this car popped up a half hour drive from where I lived.
I recognised the car from some notes I'd made about 18 months earlier when it was for sale in South Australia.
The car was everything I wanted except for the model year, but after a few signs from above I knew it was the car for me.
I became the third Australian owner after the previous owner tidied it up a bit.
The car came to Australia in 2007 after being restored in the States in 2006.
Who restored it and in which State is unknown. Attempts to contact the dealership it was sold through was a dead end.

I have had a few improvements done in the years I've had it, but it's been really solid.
More money will be spent on it this year though.

I still do plan on getting a '69 as well, but perhaps a '70 Challenger will come first.
