As a pretty much complete drop in driveline, meaning..... Engine/K-Member/Trans/Driveshaft/Dana, all as a direct fit for an E-Body ?   I think anyone would have to be NUTS not to jump all over it for $30K USD ?
Only wimps wear Bowties !

Almost 40 grand Canadian. Finish up the Kowalski car and the roof for sure. Maybe enough left over for a mid winter BBQ. I wonder if 30 that would do it? Nice drop in set up for sure. Super clean.

Doubt  Nick will actually sell it  for 30k, if anything it will be bidding, guy who offers the most wins, prolly just throwing in out there to see how high the offers will go ! ....  don't think my 10k just for the motor less carbs & intake ! will be any good  :-\
if Nick checks in on this site , !  love watching  all your videos, good luck with the sell or what ever you decide to do  :2thumbs:

I think 35-40k US. Think about the pieces: fresh Hemi in perfect shape 20-25k, 23 spline tranny with clutch, bellhousing and shifter at least 5k in that condition, Dana rear another 5k easy if you are buying the pieces. All in one place, known to be excellent from a well-known source also has value. I am not buying but I think it is worth that much.

See hemi chargers going for 30-40k more than 440 chargers
I understand the 426 hemi is a rare engine but was it that much better than a 440? Besides the additional power and being a rare engine. Was there a huge difference between the 426 hemi and the 440?

Right off the dealership?  No.  The Hemi was hardly any faster.

But the Hemi had POTENTIAL.  Back in the day it was more powerful if you were going to build up a motor.

Today?  Gen-2 Hemis are bragging rights.  Collectibility.  They still make loads of power but they cost a ton.
A hot 440 will take you faster for less money now, because there is so much more available for it.  Many more 440s were made and the aftermarket loves it.
(Hey, if you really just wanted a smart deal for something fast . . . then you wouldn't be messing with a classic Dodge Charger at all.)

The gen-2 Hemis are also the heaviest engine choice.  The car is more balanced in corners/braking with a smaller motor.  Less weight on the front end.

thats a tough one right there MIke I respect your opinion highly, but to me Gen 2 Hemis are not bragging rights in a sense that it cant dominate the HP game against a hot 440.  I believe the aftermarket loves the 426 HEMI also alot of things are being produced now to handle more power and more reliable.  I believe, my opinion only, the price is the same in the HP game let it be 440 or 426 hemi you build it for the same 1500HP its gonna cost roughly the same I only say this because I debated over and over build a 440 to handle 1k HP for cheaper than 426 hemi and at the end of the day they costs the same side by side, bit I prefer to have the HEMI head.

I think the days are over or getting close for the over priced 426,  second gen Hemi's for 30K plus.  People who have them now are usually around 65 years and older.  As the owners get older, there is going to be a surplus of them.  I know a guy in his 80's that has 3 of them. You can't take them with you when you die... To me they are just eye candy nothing more.  I'll take a 383-440 any day and be just as happy. :Twocents:
For 30k Plus you can buy a new car.

The difference is a 440 is a great engine , more streetable and probably just as fast, but the Hemi Is a Legend!

gtx6970

Buddy of mine sold a complete engine he had just last year. late 69 date , witha 1970 vin on it. Sold almost instantly for $18k. This was an engine that hadn't been run in probably close to 30 years.

So I dare say a ready to run engine would probably bring $30k without much trouble.
As for the $5k for either a 23 spline trans or a Dana , IMO  not likely. Unless I am way out of the loop.

IMO there is no other engine that will draw a crowd like this one will. if all goes well ,,,,,,I'll let you know later this summer just how well it does

I have a 426 Hemi in my 69 Daytona and she drives like a dream on the street. The ticket is setting it up correctly and not over doing it. I have a OEM-style hydraulic ( as in '70-'71) in mine, carbs rebuilt and tuned by Scott over at his HarmsAuto and a good ignition system ( Pertronix trigger in my factory dual-point Prestolite and MSD6A hidden away )...

I can drive that car all day long on the highway or city streets........   :2thumbs:

For 39K you can own this. http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,134931.0/topicseen.html

Troy wouldn't want it since the rear valance to corner piece is filled in with putty....    :shruggy: :Twocents:
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

What? What does this have to do with a Hemi motor for sale?

But, to address the comment... Just because I don't like the seams filled in, I don't turn my nose to a Charger with that character trait.... After all, I owned Danny's old C500 and it had filled seams......... If I kept it, I would have fixed it though in all honesty.... Everyone has pet-peeves, some different, some more than others, but we all have them........

There is no comparison when it comes to the potential of a hemi. But it takes more money and commitment. As a street car, i will take a wedge. But a nhra stock hemi car is on my wish list. If youve never seen one perform, do some research.

No smoothed over rear valance corners
Must have sail panel Charger scripts
