Quality motor mounts...do they exist?

What are you guys using for OE style replacement motor mounts? Application: 68-70 B-body with a 440. It seems the chain stores all sell cheap overseas engine mounts that are probably questionable at best. I'm sorry, but a $9 engine mount from Pakistan or Israel isn't going under this stroked 440! I'm not interested in running solid mounts either. Are the Schumacher Poly-loc's any good? I'm fearful the ply mounts will transfer unwanted vibration into the chassis. Yes, no...thoughts?

Friend tried the poly locks, the vibrations could be felt. I use the $9.00 mounts with two countersunk catch bolts on the drivers side, works good, no vibrations and no chance of separation.

Fwiw, i ran bone stock mounts with a bumpity bump cam and noticed no massive difference in the shakes when i swapped to solids. The car actually felt better. If you still desire a rubberish mount, there is a sticky thread of what to buy to drill and bolt a set of stockers, but they will still be semisolid.

I've run solids since 1980 when I got tired of replacing stocks and a chain to hold her down. No vibrations that I've ever noticed.

But if you want rubber, as Joe points out, just run a bolt through the stock rubber mount.

Thanks for the input! If I chose to run a solid mount, which ones are you guys using? And if using solid motor mounts, are you using a rubber or poly transmission mount?

Mine are moroso. I think they were 25 or 30 bucks a pair when i bought them. Rubber trans mount.

Yes I have an OE style rubber trans mount and my steel solids I bought in 1980 at the Perth Speed shop. No idea on mfg.

I'm running the stock rubber mounts.....but I also have the torque strap that Schumacher offers on their site on my car

I broke the strap with my old 383, 4 speed, and slicks. Swapped to solids at that point.

A buddy of mine wanted to replace the mounts in his 383 71 Road Runner. The new mounts had bolts that touched the engine block when they were installed. I had to take a grinder to them, taking off about 3/8" to get enough comfortable clearance.
