Is there supposed to be a gasket between the bezels and the hood ?

Can someone post some pictures of how the wires are routed and attached to the underside of the hood ?

Yes there's a gasket, IIRC it's grayish foam perimeter gasket used on the lighted hood indicators, the blank out plates/grilles used a large black foam membrane that was applied to the entire backside then bolted in place

As far as the wiring, I ended up rerouting as much as possible inside the hood frame/under structure because the underhood heat was frying the wires/connectors and clips (I have a mix of factory/aftermarket parts, but they all suffered) you'll find wingcars tend to run hot under the hood regardless of the engine or HP, headers will make cooking eggs on the hood easy!

Hey Chris, here's a link to the gaskets from Detroit Muscle Technologies. I need a set as well, going to grab some at the upcoming Mid Ohio Mopar show in April.

As for the wiring I did what DAY CLONA did, I routed my wires all the way to the corner of the hood near the brake booster. I avoided using the clips that run along the back edge of the hood. I even made my own wire harness from the light bulb socket to the terminal connector from the forward light harness near the brake booster. Wasn't going to pay $30.00 for basically two black wires and connectors when I had that stuff lying around my garage.

Thanks Mike and Bryan.

I thought I remembered these having gaskets when I took them apart years ago.  :eek2:

Good idea running the wires inside the hood bracing.  :2thumbs:

good idea VC , I done the same routing idea with  the hood turn signal wiring,

not sure if I remember this correctly think the 70 charger hood has 2 maybe 3 variations on the inner skeleton frame of the hood ( holes & their locations ) also as we know 69 Daytona is different too ,
the  wiring under the orange 70 hood , i'm not convinced that is factory original location  , although have seen a few like it , but how would that work if you had under hood insulation ! the wiring clips are using  the insulation clip holes I think, insulation holds the wiring in place ?? ..., ( the 70 charger guys will know more on this im sure )

Feel free to post any relevant picture you think we all might like to see in the threads below!

Sorry about that, I jumped to the conclusion thinking 68/69 Charger when your title clearly states 1970. I'm glad that you were able to find the 70 version gaskets.  :2thumbs:

Thanks for the picture collection. I wondered how it was supposed to be, seeing as my 70 hood differs from a few setups where they fished the wires through the braces...... seems there is no "one correct way".....

I wonder why there are variations in a one year only hood????
