Just a question...

Do you know if the Concorde is still flying ? I know Concorde flies were cancelled when the Air France accident untill know causes. I was seeing RealTV last night about that accident and they told Concord was again in the air after all investigations and modifications on Concorde around mid 2002 year.. more less a year leater of the accident

was that true ? or was definitelly cancelled ?

I believe they were kept in service after the crash in france, albeit very limited, but the last flight was on October 24th 2003.

I recall something on TV about the last flight of the final Concorde. I assume they're still grounded.

Geez, one little explosion ruins the fun for everyone. ::) :smilielol:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

it was not necessarily the crash that caused the grounding and now, discontinued service of the concorde.  The inability for Air France and British Airways to make a profit off of the airplane was the real problem.  Also, the noise issues and the fact that the aircraft could only land on the largest of airstrips due to its high landing speed limited its number of flights and destinations.

Correctemundo, the costs were just too high and it wasn't for everyone, I don't remember the price of a ticket but it was like I'd be taking a limo to work, one that runs on 100% proof.

The concorde was way ahead of it's time, a true craft of the future, sadly not this one, not yet.

And a small piece of metal left on the runway from another airplane serviced incorrectly, takes it down.   :rotz:

At those kind of speeds the Concorde was never gonna have an easy go of it.

Just like the space shuttle program.  It takes 18,000 miles per hour to get off the planet and a proportionate amount of deceleration to get back on.  That's never gonna be an easy job no matter what we invent.

The Japanes are looking for help from the west to develop a supersonic "Concorde" type passenger plane. As per the article, it's suppose to be flying by June of this year. Looking at the prototype illustration, where are the passengers suppose to sit? :icon_smile_big:
