:slap: that would've given the '70 model another card in the "which 2nd generation Charger is best?" discussions  :icon_smile_big:

What that picture also shows is that those saggy 1970 upper grille surrounds above the headlight doors were in the design from day one.

Hmm. was sort of hoping Mytur would post his hilarious grille comparison pictures with the kid with the booger running out of his nose  :'(

That would be for a '69. The '70's are more like this...

It's really a shame that Chrysler didn't offer a color keyed bumper for the '70 because it really tames the front end down.

...And while we're at it, color keyed bumpers would have drastically improved the 70 Coronet's front end.

I agree.

Yet still, there's no hope for the '70 IMO.

"Yeah let's throw on some stupid side scoops to hide the iconic door scallops. And while we're at it, let's offer a Go Wing option to make the car look even more hideous."

What was Chrysler thinking! :smilielol: :smilielol:

68's RULE!!!

JB400

I wonder why they didn't do it? One year only type deal when they're just getting a new model ready?  Too much invested in the 2nd gen already thanks to the Nascar program?

I'm sure there are lots of proposed OPTIONs & features of cars that made it past the drawing board but not into production.  "WE" just don't get the opportunity to see them.

the '71 B-bodies were intended to be launched for the '70 model year but got delayed  :scratchchin:

:o interesting !   I prefer the color coded front bumper look  :yesnod:  :coolgleamA:  imo Chrysler should of gone with that front bumper  & no door scoops for the 70 model ,

no offence 70 charger guys

I agree with that one. No offence taken here. But I do like the front bumper.as well as the 71-74 front bumpers. And I would never say anything about the corvette tail lights on some models. Did I write that out loud??

Wow, good eye!

Im not sure if I like it or not.  It does change the whole look of the front for sure.

I didn't know those obnoxiously hard to clean wire wheel covers were around back then! I thought they came about in 73?

I prefer the look of the painted bumper on the 70 (like Torettos!).....an improvement in my eyes.....but looking at that pic it still appears to have a chrome rear bumper. Its got to be paint or chrome to both ends not different each end!!

Nobody noticed the "Plum Crazy" Daytona?... wonder where that went?

An interesting opinion.  For me, on the E-body I definitely prefer both ends color keyed and the 71 B-body somewhat so yes, but for this 70 Charger I could possibly get used to the front but I dont know about the rear.  Personally with the clunkier bumper I think I like chrome.  Just my opinion.

Right  next to the plum crazy "redline" tires....   :yesnod:

The wonders of modern science!
You can have a vintage car in any color you want!
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

ACUDANUT

I have seen plenty of 70 Front bumpers painted body color. They strip the chrome off, and paint it. No biggie.  :shruggy:

been thinking about this color keyed front bumper deal on that 70 charger .. it did seem to look familiar from somewhere, thought sure I had seen something like it before but not sure where, or maybe I had imagined it, then just by chance while looking for something else charger related, I stumbled on the ole Go See Cal advert! I'm sure we have all seen before at sometime.  bingo  I remember where I saw the color coded front bumper before  :o    :popcrn:

I recall seeing a picture of a mostly flat black 70 with a colored bumper. It was some track car and it looked pretty damn nice. Can't find the picture of course...
