Anyone installed these before? Wondering the best way to weld them on, full bead around them or a series of short welds leaving space between the welds?

In my resto thread somewhere. Clamp, tack from centers out and then full weld. I'll look for pics..

Awesome, thanks Wayne!

Pulling the squeaky damn poly bushings out and installing the rubber style ones (what a pita) figured I might as well add some stiffening plates since they are out.

I did not weld all the way around, I'm guessing this is satisfactory though.

I sent mine off to Firm Feel and they welded them solid all the way around.

Kern Dog

I would imagine anything helps but I would have stitch welded in 1 inch increments at the least. I fully welded mine.

I welded mine all the way around, then ground the welds with a flapper wheel to make it all pretty. One thing I did notice is the new MOOG bushings have an issue, they didn't seem like they fit that great. The outer shell that presses into the control arm is not perfectly round and has slight ribs about every 1/2" around it that run the vertical length of the shell. This creates friction points that gall the metal when being pressed in. I was able to get them pressed in and fully seated just didn't seem to go as smoothly as it should have compared to ones in the past that I've done. I initially ordered 2 from Rock Auto and they were both made in Mexico. They both had the issue with the ribs. I ordered 3 more from my local parts store and 2 of the 3 were still USA made on the box. Comparing the USA vs Mexico the USA made ones do not have the ribs on the outer shell and are completely round. The USA ones have the name Harris in the rubber on the end of the bushing if that helps anyone out. Maybe one could take some emory cloth and knock the ribs down slightly on any bushings with issues and that would make them press in easier?
