Wow, that is quite a story. So glad it has a happy ending. Car thieves should be regarded like in the old days, like horse thieves... that is low.

Great story.
There have been a few similar stories where I live lately.
How people even think they can get away with stealing "special" vehicles and get away with it these days surprises me.
The power of social media is strong
Gotta love a '69

I doubt they even knew what they were taking.....bet they just saw the "Charger" script and knew nothing about the "special" meaning to the C500 series

I saw that car and talked to the owner that restored it at Mopar's at the Strip. It's a beaut.

A bit OT, but that reminds me of a story from long ago.

A guy had starved several horses to death, and left others chained just out of reach of food starving.  So he was going on trial, and there was a big gathering for it, with three people bringing their horses to walk around the courthouse.  So I made a sign, "They hang horse thieves, why not horse killers?"  The one girl on a horse loved it, and took the sign to hold as they walked.  So at a later sentencing hearing, the place is packed again, and he was sentenced to jail for the animal cruelty, which was a bit rare back then.  They didn't haul him off in handcuffs at that moment, because it was only weekends in jail, so we're standing around outside the room and he walks out with his lawyer.  My mom steps out, right in front of him, and says to him, "You need a sanity check."  The guy went berserk, and his lawyer had to step in and get him out of there.  In a way seeing it was so much better than reading it here, but still it was pretty great.
