Jees i know mine has parts of another charger in it, but that is god awful

Cringe at those big RIMS
cringe at the digital Dash
Cringe at how he is asking almost triple Digits for a ruined classic
Cringe at everything that has been ruined to this car.

VegasCharger

The seller shows pics of the rear end missing the center chunk but does not mention the status in the description. WTF!! Are those progress pictures? Is there any center chunk at all? Shitty ad for a 93K listing.

WHITE AND RED 69

I'll agree that it's a shitty ad and the asking price is way too high but overall it looks good. Paint looks clean, engine bay looks good, and has a semi decent suspension/brake setup. It needs to be lowered a few inches to work with those wheels but overall looks pretty good. Seeing as rusted out shitboxes are going for 20 grand I'm sure we are going to be seeing lots of cars with these high pricetags. And these cars aren't getting any cheaper to build.

Not sure why you need to cringe at the gauges, nothing wrong with accurate gauges in the stock bezel. And to say this car is ruined is ridiculous.  :slap:  A few minor changes and it's a badass 68 charger.

Cringe at the gauges?
Because he has put all modern technology into a car that was beautifully built straight from the production line, Most people i know whom are after these cars want them as factory as possible, There is a reason it isnt selling and it keeps getting re listed on ebay month after month, 1, yes the price, but 2, IMO and many others ive asked on there opinion, is because he has modernised and ruined the whole beauty classical aspect of a 50year old american muscle car.
The tic toc tac and the dash on the second gen chargers are some of the greatest looking classic dashes IMO, so to rip that all out and replace it with modern digi gauges was a big mistake
u say a few minor changes, u mean major changes, if i wanted a car with digi gauges, big wilwood disc brakes brand new up to date suspension and modern seats i would go out and buy a new year car, when i want a charger, i go out and buy and try and get one as factory as possible and keep the classic aspect to it. Not destroy it by putting all modern garbage in it. So yes, it has been ruined IMO

JR

This car could be 40 grand cheaper and restored completely original and purists would still cry that the wrong shade of black was used, and the tires are the wrong brand. Give me a break.

I admit the price is too high, but this is a beautiful car. The only gripe I have is it's sitting way too high. Needs to be lowered to look right.

Its funny

Many members including myself have posted chargers for sale that compared to this are FACTORY ORIGINAL and are called lipsticked pigs, yet post this charger that IMO i dont like because of all the modern upgrades and everyone loves it
lol.

It keeps getting relisted because he's asking way too much for it. And yes, MINOR changes are all that is needed. The gauges, seats, and wheels can all be swapped out in a day and it will look just like it did back in the day if that is what you want. I will agree that the stock gauges are gorgeous but nothing wrong with aftermarket gauges that are accurate and properly lit in the stock bezel. Just because you and your buddies are after 100% stock cars doesn't mean that everyone has to build them that way.

If you think that is an updated suspension then you obviously don't know what came on the car. It doesn't have some crazy aftermarket coil over setup that hacked out all the frame rails, the suspension on that car is 100% stock based. Stock upper arms, stock lower arms, stock tie rods, stock steering box, stock torsion bars, and stock leaf springs. Everything on the car is basic stock replacement parts. I think the only item that looks to be upgraded is the sway bar and the shocks.

Those Wilwood's aren't that crazy (still probably fit inside a 15" wheel) and out brake anything the factory put on. If you want stock brakes that a dump trunk can out brake then go ahead and have fun with that. I'll take disc brakes, better tire compounds, and modern shocks all day long.

They were called lipsticked pigs because they were shit, even if they were stock. I'm sure the cars you posted had rust bubbles and massive gaps on every panel with a list of issues. The 68 in this thread only has interior issues which are easily fixed. If you are going to pluck a car off ebay to bad mouth at least pick one that doesn't have a great paint job. I'd much rather deal with a car that has zero paint issues with everything looking great then a car with some interior issues.  :Twocents:

Looks like he was going for a modern Challenger feel with a classic Charger style, which seems to be what most people are after.

I don't like the wheels, but I would never consider putting factory 14" wheels on it.        17"-18" for me
I don't like the seats because they are too big, especially too tall.                      I put Lexus Convertible seats in my 69 for the bolstering and 8 way power adjust-ability.
The gauges are fine with me.                                 I actually run Autometer gauges in mine
I don't like the suspension, because it's stock.            I would swap it to QA1 or Hotchkis and drop it a couple inches.  I would also put in a Borgesen steering box as well.

My point here is that everyone is different and we would all choose to do our own car a little differently.  That doesn't make it wrong, just one persons opinion.     :shruggy:      :Twocents:

I will agree with the fact that it is over priced.   Who cares if it's over priced though.   Maybe the guy said "Hey, I'm gonna stick this on ebay priced high and if it sells then I will use that money to build a Daytona clone".   My opinion about pricing is that it isn't anyone's business to care what the price is other than the owner.  If you like the price then buy it, if you don't like the price then ignore it.  Too much time is spent in today's society badmouthing other people's opinion/stuff.  We are all different and we all like different things.          :scratchchin:           :shruggy:              :Twocents:          :Twocents:

Heh...yeah the wheels are too big and ugly, but that's not very hard to fix. Other than that, its pretty nice. Dunno about $93K tho....

Not sure hanging the gas tank on the rear shock cross member is a good idea  :P

Looks like someone forgot to weld the gas tank strap hangers on the new trunk floor

With a hard stop the tank will want to scoot forward a little and all that is stopping that is the filler pipe

It isn't that hard to het a set of tank hangers and weld them on. Even  l know that lol :2thumbs:

probably not, but those look like 20's at least. A nice set of 17"s or 18"s would do the job, with the right stance.

The OP is confused between fact and opinion.

No. YOUR opinion is not FACT, it is opinion. SOME people like to update their classic cars. Do YOU run a totally stock engine? Points ignition? Bias ply tires? 4 wheel DRUM brakes?  Well, if so, I'll be seeing you fade in the rear view mirror as I speed away, brake harder with my 4 wheel disc brakes, corner at double your speed, etc.

Good catch, I didn't see that.

Challenger340

Just me I guess ?
but every 17" 18" or 20" rimmed car I've ever ridden in... you know with those "rubber band" tires ? they ALL seemed to have a really rough ride ?
I mean it seemed like I could feel every "pebble" we drove over ?

If that's the trade-off for "handling" and looking kewl these days, good for you ! but I'd rather not rattle my teeth.
Only wimps wear Bowties !

Kern Dog

You are probably right. A 30 series tire probably does ride terrible. I chose mine as the absolute lowest profile that would handle well and still have some cushion.
The 20" and larger rims have to have a super low profile to keep from having the overall diameter be too big. Plus, the huge wheel starts to get into some really heavy rotational mass.

alfaitalia

Looks wise its not the size of the wheel that's the issue....its that he left it at aboutstock height for 14 s....so the big wheels have left looking like its been lifted. Im not a fan of those particular wheels but if it was dropped enough that the top of the rear rims just about lined up with the fender it would look loads better!
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you !!
