Anyone have their 8 track tapes reburbished?

I had my 8 track player in my Charger cleaned up and serviced a few years ago. I sent it to Barry's 8 track and he did a good job changing the belt and adding amp inputs and a jack for an ipod/MP3 player.

Every tape I have used in the player so far didn't sound very good until last week when I picked up a tape online which sounded clear and louder than any other tape I had tried before so I think it is just the tapes that I have that are the problem.

I want to send about 15 of my tapes to be gone through with new foam and splices but there are a few different places online that provide this service.

Anyone have this done recently and if so, who did you use?

I've done some of my own repairs over the years with supplies from Kate's Track Shack. They also do tape repairs.
