For those that use the stock 440 air cleaner,  what filter element are you using?

VegasCharger

Fram CA305 Air Filter.

EDIT: My bad I thought I read un-silenced air cleaner. Filter above is for un-silenced air cleaner.

Actually Bryan that's my bad! I thought I typed un-silenced. I did not see that until just now. BTW, I just corrected it. Thanks for the information.
I am having a height issue with mine.  I'll check it out today and see if it's the element or the air cleaner stud.

I have a K&N filter for my '68 Charger with the unsilenced air cleaner. The number for a stock element is E-1530. I'm running an Edelbrock CH4B intake which is slightly taller than stock and had no issues with hood clearance. I bought a drop base from Mancini's and bought a K&N E-1540 filter which is 3/4" taller in hopes to give me a little more air flow but not increase the overall height of the air cleaner...
1968 Charger R/T, matching numbers 440/727, black with green top and interior, currently getting restored by me

No problem, glad I could help. For that Fram CA305 you basically have to order it online. I've been to many AutoZones, O'Reilly's etc. and they don't stock those air filters. Actually I could drive to Summit Racing (I live close enough haha) and buy it there to save on shipping cost.

LMK if you need the exact measurements, I'll go out and measure mine.

I have a 440 and I could not get the hood to close with the stock air cleaner. as I have a Mopar brand hi rise intake. . I started with the drop air cleaner base from Mancini racing, but I still couldn't close it with the stock air filter size. A guy who races a General Lee clone suggested a NAPA Gold 2070. Between those 2 things, my hood closes now but I do wonder since the NAPA is like half as tall, will I get enough air flow

Just keep in mind if you try to get a cheapie ebay drop filter base off ebay, most are 14" but my unsilenced was more like a 13"
