anybody running the 440 stealth heads and the whiplash cam?
keep on keepin on

Wondering why you would. The whiplash cams (I believe) are designed to work with the factory low compression heads. I'd say there are much better choices once you upgrade to Stealths.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

We still order and use the Stealth heads regularly on customer builds, resto/stock appearing 475 to 550 hp.

Stealth's OOTB no work other than check guides/V-Spring pressure/lube/upgrade Ret & Locks, on a 440 even using a CompCams XE284H with heavy L2355 pistons we see the 475 hp/510-520 Ft/Lbs, Performer rpm Intake.
Mildly Ported with upgraded V/Seat Angles & backcut we see 500+ HP/520-530 Ft/Lbs same XE284H using ICON 9953 Pistons, still dual plane Performer rpm Intake on the same 440
and,
with a 10 hr Port & prep for service, better angles, Street Dominator Intake Port match on a 10.2 to 10.3:1 440 we can see right up to 550hp/565 Ft/Lbs, still with the same XE284H CompCam.

When Porting, it's easier to bet the "better" flow from the Eddy rpm/E-Street Heads than from the Stealths, but both will go close to 290-300 cfm eventually, and NO, the Edelbrocks/E-Streets are NOT 291 cfm ootb, they LIE ! more like 260's.

IMO, nothing wrong with the Stealth's, we like them.... and we NEVER have to worry about aftermarket Dizzy fitment problems common with Eddy/Sidewinders etc.
Only wimps wear Bowties !

Here are some higher numbers attained with Stealth Heads and a Solid Flat Tappet Cam.

In this case, the Customer already had Stealth Heads, so the dilema was the investment for new/better Heads on his new engine ? or very simply re-work the Stealth Heads he already had ? (cheaper).

just saying....
it all depends just how much Power and Torque a guy is targeting ?

But for all practical purposes 585 HP with 589 Ft/lbs is a pretty darn good ride in a B-Body.
