Clutch fork for a 73 big block b body

I am having trouble finding a clutch fork for a 73 Charger big block. Brewers has them listed on there site but out of stock. Brewers says this;


New clutch fork, fits 1966-up B/E-body and 1967-69 A-body big block applications, and 1970-74 E-body/1971-74 B-body small & big blocks (also used with FP484 fork pivot when converting 1963-66 A-body cars to 10.5" bellhousing). 10 7/8" overall length.

There are some on ebay but not sure if they are correct. This one looks right

And this one looks the same but on Summits site it is only listed to fit small blocks.

What I am wondering is are they the same for big and small blocks?

The MP catalog shows the P4529452 as fitting SB's only but the '73 factory parts manual shows one fork (2643702) for B-bodies with no reference to engine size.

I called around today. Spoke with quite a few people who had no idea why some specs say one fork for big and small blocks while others say small block only. Jaime Passon said to the best of his knowledge a big block fork will work in place of a small block, but a small block fork will not work on a big block. something to do with the back of the fork.

The fork pivot plate is another thing. Most I have seen only go up to 1972. Why? no one knows. Passon said he believes the pivot plate should work in my 73. So I have a pivot plate and some seals coming from him.

Not sure what the deal is on a big block clutch fork but I found one on amazon last year and it was $200 bucks but I was having such a hard time finding one so I grabbed it. The spring that holds the fork to the pivot was broke on my old one so I got that new one but decided to hang on to my old one as a spare since they are so hard to find these days.....

Summit racing said this one is listed for a big block, and it is for 1978. I have it coming, only $22 too. Hope it fits. If it doesn't fit I might have to try and repair my old one. They welded up the fork where it contacts the throw out bearing, and a poor job too. It could be repaired if all else fails.

Got the fork from Summit today. It doesn't fit, it's too long. The old one is about 11 1/4", the one from Summit is about 12 1/2". We will see what Passon sends me.
