alright so today i primered the top of my hood, and i guess it came out semi-good considering that this was my first time, but anyways.
I noticed that the hood has 2 sections a top part and then a second i guess brace type of underpart thats tac welded in a few spots.

So while looking around I saw alot of rust that could give me some problems later down the line on the inside of the hood and i was wondering if i could take off the brace piece and get to the rust since its in odd spots?

thanks for the help.

8WHEELER

That would be a huge task and I don't know anybody that has taken the two panels apart.

I just use a bead blaster myself to clean up inside those area's, I have never seen any surface rust or
any problems come back after doing it this way.

:iagree: The hoods are spot welded around the edges/lips and glued inbetween the braces and the top. By the time you driled out the spot welds and rewelded it back on it would look really bad. Enless you have rust comeing through to the top. Just do as 8WHEELER sugjests and it will be fine. Just don't get carried away and worp the hood. You could always use POR-15 or something like it. But I wouldn't use that if its just a surface rust. :Twocents:
