Been trying to think for like two months of something good for my personalized license plates, but everything I can think of is taken. I was going to go with the black and yellow California plates. Have up to 7 letters/numbers. Any one have any good ideas? I can check online if it's taken so that helps.

I have SU*BIRD on mine, as our old plates we were only allowed 6 letters + the symbol. Now we can have 8 letters. I got DADS BEE for my '69 Bee, was amazed it was available.

Pennsylvania is allowing us to put our original 1970 license plates on our cars and that is considered our antique plate so that's what I did :2thumbs:

We can run vintage plates now as well... just trying to find a nice pair is the challenge. Plates that is...

The other thing we have is cheaper annual fee Historic vehicle plates, but many don't realize if they aren't off to a car show on a Saturday morning they're gonna get a ticket and the cops have all been cued to start pulling guys over running these plates.

I used to own "XLR 8".....should have kept it but money talks when you are young! Would have been perfect on the 69!

EDIT....just checked to find that plate is on a 2009 Audi A4 now......boring car for a great plate!!

Dumb thing here... we can't transfer personalized plates. They are YOURS for life...even a fight to transfer to a kids name if you give them the damn car they are on.

Have my wife's SEXTY 4 plates off her 'vette. Can't sell the plate or transfer so looking for a '64 Savoy Post car to justify having the plate!

You can transfer a plate onto pretty much any other vehicle here....costs £80 to do it and the "doner" needs a current MOT (UK safety check) certificate. The receiving car MUST be newer than the plate.....so you cant make a car look newer than it is by fitting newer plate. Over here all number plates from 1963 onwards have a letter or number that tell the year it was issuers if you know how to read them (and therefore the date the car was registered new)...... That's why the plate they issued to my car ends in a G....the date letter for 1969.

Find a good set of blue plates with a very low sequence number (which would be correct for a 70 model since the plates started in late 69) then order that number in a custom plate and throw the white plates in your file cabinet with the title and install the blue ones on the car.

Personalized plates are $400 now in Ontario. And the new ones peel after a year or 2. The old ones you see on a wreck in the woods from 40 years ago look better!

2 that come to mind for me  WINGNUT or the one I had for years WNGD1DR (Winged Wonder)  Good luck!

George Biggs (Body by Biggs) takes his personalized plates in every year and asks for new ones for 10 bucks. It's illegal to run a bad plate and there's an entire series of them where you can get a new one for free.

As for the price.. I hear yah. Couldn't resist forking out the dough for these though..

Did not know that. I suppose that plate won't be seeing all the salt and sand either.  ;)

Yep, if your plate is peeling... just take a snap shot and go into the MTO/Service Ontario guys and complain.

I have 69WING on mine.
I wanted WINGER but my wife said she was worried that at the car shows someone would bust out a Winger tape and we would have a dozen fat bald sweaty men dancing to "She's Only 17". Very unpleasant visual.  :eek2:
A couple other I considered.
