I cant seem to pick this one?

Ive emailed them and there willing to go as low as 40k for the car, been up for a few months on ebay now
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-Charger-FRAME-UP-RESTORED-440-BIG-BLOCK-EASY-FINANCING-CA/283256005928?hash=item41f35fa528:g:oj0AAOSwcT5b6LBI:rk:10:pf:0&vxp=mtr

For a 40k car its not pefect but its solid/clean/ a nice looking driver. And not absurd in the 60-100k range we are now seeing chargers being advertised for.

Is there something im missing? lol

:shruggy:...The camber looks off. What does the frame look like ? Looks like a good buy.

It hasnt sold probably because of lack of details, smoothed rear valence corners (bondoed?) and its still a 318 car. The market is tough on cobbled cars like this.

Challenger340

Rockers, wheel wells, rear valence, grill and fender spacing, wheel alignment, 318 car 5/16" Fuel Line and light Torsion Bars/Suspension.... I could go on and on here, not to mention the "garbage" 440 that won't get out of it's own way.

IMO, and from what I'm seeing, a closer personal inspection would reveal no more than lipstick on a pig for a sale.
And as mentioned,
it can be a tough sell on cobbled/spruced up 318 cars trying to capitalize in the current market unless they are perfect, and this one isn't !

In reality and again imo, anyone is better served adding to a $40K Budget
because anywhere between $50-65K should get someone a very fine R/T model that will hold it's own under inspection, either a pretty darn solid original, or well restored(NOT like this example), with some good documentation in support of that equity/valuation, like Fender Tag/Broadcast Sheet, and quite often still numbers matching drivetrain.

???
I suppose that you align your car to stock specifications and don't care to add a little negative camber for better handling ?

I've noticed that most car dealerships ask for well above what the cars are worth all the while doing sub par work on the cars.

It looks rushed all together. I'd hate to find out what else has been rushed on that car upon close inspection. It's a nice enough car but not for the price they are asking for it. I imagine it will eventually go overseas

A383Wing

Factory AC car, yet all the holes in the firewall have been covered up from the inside....also, no heater controls, so no heater in the car at all.....

Looking at all the body panel gaps......this is just a pig with lipstick on

70 sublime

No center A/C vent but it has the side vents
No water pipes running for heater so maybe nothing under the dash at all

Quarters have been patched on
Wonder what the trunk floor really looks like under that mat stuff stuck on everything .....
next project 70 Charger FJ5 green

Yea...that was kind of my point, looks like all the AC & heater stuff is missing..........and I also wondered about the condition of the trunk floor under all that stick on insulation.....

so much for "full restoration", huh?

The suspension/camber doesn't look messed up to me.  It just looks like the torsion bars are cranked pretty low.

Look at the center point of the front wheel, and compare its height in relation to the body lines on the fender & door & rocker panel.  That shows the height of the suspension itself without being affected by tire/wheel sizes.

green69rt

That dealer also has a 383 4SP car up for about $60K.  Seems like they are marking their cars up about 20-30% over market and that 4SP may be 40%, but.... we've all seen a bunch of cars up for big bucks.  This may be the market.  :shruggy:   I read the delusional sellers forum and wonder if the prices on it are the future.

Listing ended already.

But I'm wondering if maybe the 318/904 Torsion bars were just "sacked" out under the 440/727's weight ?

As said, that car has issues and in my opinion, not as represented.  When I sold my '68 clone a couple of months ago, it went for that kind of money, but it's a nicely done car.  All drivetrain and suspension was at R/T specs or better.  Everything worked, new interior, dash completely restored.  The 440 was healthy, upgraded tranny from Cope Racing, Gear Vendors OD, 95% original sheet metal, no rust and on an on.

What is up with the trunk?  Who would ever call that "restored"?

nchrome

the lower part of the fire wall is green and so is the radiator support. why didn't they spray them also. at least for that kind a money ya think that would of been done or even rattle canned to match the rest of the car.  ::)

stripedelete

Someone must have misplaced the bumberettes.

johnnycharger

Pardon my ignorance but how do you know it is a 318 car?
I must be missing something.

I have 70 Charger that came originally with a 318. Now a has a 426 Wedge with a 4 speed. (done over 35 years ago).  No sacked out suspension or Torsion bars.  :shruggy:
Where do you get this info ?

white

If I remember correctly, the torsion bars are the same on 6 cylinder and 318 cars light duty rear axle and 10 inch front brakes, 383-440 cars have larger torsion bars and either 10inch or 11inch front brake options/ disk / and better rear axle options . 426 has heavy duty brakes/ rear axle and torsion bars and modified k frame.

Different Torsion Bars were used from factory for handling depending upon the Engine application, ie: weight, model, performance or non, same as the rear leaf springs packs/sway bars etc., etc.

I believe the R/T & Hemi Cars were pretty much the same being code "S15" on the Broadcast Sheet, but the B-Sheet also containing the 3 digit identifier for T-Bars and rear leafs used in the Car.

Below is just a partial List(there are more) as a general guide on Frt Torsion Bars exampling diameters and load rates, same went for rear leafs but I don't have those numbers as per applications anywhere.
