thats what my thought was when my mate sent the bad photo only thing thats threw me is its an original 4 speed sure grip rear would this be normal for a 383

bakerhillpins

Must be the M in the engine digit that has it coming up as a 6pk 440 car? Only 440 6pk that comes to mind is the A12 Coronet Super Bee which I believe has a M in the VIN.

The XP29 is for a Charger Premium 2 door sports hardtop (not RT), H is 383 4bbl HP, 9 is 69', B is Hamtramck

Yes, you could get a 69 383 car with a sure grip rear and a 4spd.  I don't believe the Axle packages were available in 383 cars though so it would be in an 8.75 rear end, not a Dana. I think you can find this stuff in the dealer periodicals that are online at https://www.hamtramck-historical.com/.

Bakerhillpins, Don't forget 69 1/2 Roadrunner. The only other car to come with that 6 pak option in 69. No Charger came with that option in 69. With the very bad pic I'm guessing it's a H or a factory mistake if M.LEON.

440 Fanatic

Were any Chargers ever offered with a 3-2BBL option?   I might be wrong,  but I don't think they were.

Bronzedodge

No six packs in '69, but they made a bunch in 70.
Mopar forever!

Ghoste

And 71.  A couple snuck out in 72.  Also, there were two axle packages available for the 484 with a four speed.  A 3.55 one and a 3.91 version and each included Sure Grip pllus a few other features.  Codes were A36 and A31 respectively.

Here is a link to the page that shows it for 1969 - http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/images/dealerships/DealershipDataBook/1969/69_Charger0011.jpg

No such animal from the factory. What you simply have is a 383 4 barrel car that someone stuck a Dana in. That's it, case closed.
