Door adjustment

When my drivers side door closes the top is too far in, I have tried adjusting the striker to no avail, I also have to close the door gently until i hear a click then push it in more until I hear the second clock when its actually shut. Could it be an issue with the latching mechanism in the door? It's driving my crazy.

So your saying when the door is latched shut the top of the door is in further than the bottom?
When I hang and adjust doors I leave the striker off and adjust the door until the gaps are close/even as I can get and the door edge is flush top to bottom with the quarter panel, then install the striker.
